Kitchen facilities
The kitchen area is equipped with fridge/freezer, full sized gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and many other electrical appliances. The kitchens are generously stocked with crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots & pans and many other kitchen items.

External facilities
La Vieille Fromagerie luxury gite complex is set in 3.5 acres of tranquil grounds in the heart of sunny rural France. Each Gite has a private patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. The gites share a 10 x 5m fenced and alarmed swimming pool with sunloungers and parasols as well as a children's play area. Guests are invited to use the grounds for other games and activities.

Special features
A welcome basket of groceries to help you settle in upon arrival awaits you in the gite.

The gites have been recently converted from the old dairy where goats cheese was produced until the late 1960s. The local area still produces many varities of goats cheese with several to be found in the local markets.

We also offer B&B in our main house for those arriving or departing outside of the Saturday to Saturday changeovers in the gites.

Please note that we operate a strict no smoking policy in all buildings and around the pool area. We are sorry but we are unable to accept pets.

Local activities
As well as Futuroscope and La Vallee des Singes (primate sanctuary), we have Poitiers with its 100 churches, Cognac with its distilleries and the beautiful cities of Angouleme & Limoges and the beaches of the Atlantic coast all within easy reach.

Other activities in the local area include pony/horse riding, canoeing/kayaking, go-karts/quad bikes, golf, fishing and many others - more than you could possibly fit into one holiday!

Location
La Vieille Fromagerie is situated on the edge of the picturesque and historic village of Brux with excellent local amenities including the museum and 11th Century church. Our unspoilt rural location is perfect for walking, cycling, birdwatching and relaxing. Nearby attractions include Futuroscope and La Vallee des Singes. We are a few minutes from the N10 and within easy reach of Poitiers TGV station & airport and only 4 hours drive from the ports of St Malo and Caen.

La Vieille Laiterie is one of our three luxury gites.

Although the smallest of the gites, it is still generously proportioned and is very well suited to couples looking for a special holiday experience. There is a double sofa bed in the lounge area to accommodate up to two more adults.

Downstairs the gite comprises of a large open plan room. It has a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, dining area featuring solid oak furniture and a very comfortable lounge area equipped with British digital TV, DVD and HiFi looking out over the garden, swimming pool and into the countryside beyond.

La Vieille Laiterie has a spacious family bedroom with a separate luxury bathroom. The original roof beams are visible in both the upstairs rooms and combined with the beautiful chestnut flooring creates a special ambience.

The bedroom is furnished and decorated to the highest standard with solid oak furniture and high quality soft furnishings. It has a double bed and set of children's bunk beds.

The luxury bathroom features a double ended bath, corner shower unit, twin handbasins and WC, providing a wonderful and relaxing space.

This gite accommodates and is equipped for up to a maximum of four guests by using either the bunk beds or the sofabed in addition to the double bed.
