External facilities
There is a large safe garden for children to make snowmen or snow angels in the winter, a basketball net or come summer there is a splash pool to cool down in, outdoor games, garden table and chairs, sun loungers and bbq which guests are welcome to use. The chalet is a great base for the summer activities.
Plenty of off road parking for guests.
We have safe storage and wash down facilities for mountain and road bikers.
Special features
Koala has a superb location for both winter and summer sports or as a base for touring the area with many places to visit not more than a hour away. The Portes du Soleil, or door to the sun is the world's largest linked resort spanning the Franco-Swiss border and 13 resorts, with over 650km of groomed pistes, something for the novice to the extreme skier or boarder. The snow melts and the mountain meadows come alive with fauna and flora, and the summer activities begin, mountain biking, climbing, walking, parapenting, white water rafting, horse riding, mountain golf courses, fishing, canoeing to name but a very few of the sports available during the summer months. Maybe you would prefer to visit Annecy, Geneva, Evian, Chamonix, Yvoire or take the tunnel into Italy which are all on your door step if you stay with us here at Koala or maybe just relax by a lake. Lake Montriond, the third largest in the region is just a couple of minutes by car or a 20 minute walk from the chalet.
Local activities
There are numerous events in the area each summer, French open VTT in Montriond middle of June and
fireworks on Lake Montriond, second saturday in August an amazing display set to music lasting around 30 minutes. There are fishing and boating competitions, 4x4's racing, harley davidson weekend a sight not to be missed if you are a keen fan of the motor bike and lots, lots more with a weekly and monthly programme of events to help you get the most out of the area.
The Portes du Soleil is mostly know for its extensive skiing and snow boarding but the summer activities are fast beginning a firm favorite with those that realise that the Alps are not just a winter destination. A week is not enough to do all that is on offer be it the slopes in the winter or the summer excitment where you can try a new sport every day of the week!
Bed and breakfast basis during the summer with the option of an evening meal, catered in winter with reductions for children if sharing with adults.

Location
Koala is set in the sleepy hamlet of Montriond but just 2 km from the bustling town of Morzine, 75 mins from Geneva. If you are looking for a traditional French style chalet you'll appreciate Koala's unique blend of pine-panelling, wooden beams and natural stone.
The chalet is on the road to the Ardent lift, giving the quickest access to the areas of Avoriaz, Chatel and into Switzerland and the free ski bus stops at the end of our driveway. The Portes du Soleil has over 650km marked pistes
Living rooms
The large open plan lounge has comfy leather sofas, large open log fire to toast your toes with maybe a drink from our well stocked honesty bar. We have satellite tv, dvd, hifi, video & wifi access for your relaxation and a cosy homely atmosphere. The lounge leads onto the informal dining area and balcony which surrounds two sides of the chalet with spectacular views of the Ardent valley and across to Morzine. Maybe have breakfast in the summer on the balcony or enjoy the evening sun with a glass of wine after a day's skiing.
There's a games room with table tennis, darts and mini football, a den next door with playstation2, toys, books and games for all ages as well as hifi, dvd and video. A great place to chill and a favorite room for children when they are staying!
The layout of the chalet makes it idea for large groups, family get together or friends, we welcome all from 1 - 28!
There is a sauna to help ease those aches or we can arrange for an inhouse body therapist.
Bedrooms
We have nine light and spacious, warm and cosy bedrooms sleeping from 2 - 4 people and many of the rooms can take a cot, we have two cots available for our younger members. Seven of the bedrooms have sinks in the rooms, with adjacent bath or showers rooms and toilets.
