External facilities
The farmhouse has its own terrace overlooking the pretty enclosed courtyard. The terrace is equipped with garden furniture and barbecue. The 7m x 4m pool is enclosed and alarmed for safety and has its own terrace and deck with sunloungers.
The house is set in pretty gardens and has an orchard and lawns suitable for ball games.

The farmhouse has exclusive access to the pool.
The farm stables have been converted to provide a second rental property (L'Ecurie) which has two bedrooms. L'Ecurie is available for let with La maison for parties of up to 10 people. Please contact us for more details, tariffs etc.

We live in a cottage on the site and are happy to provide seasonal produce from our potager and orchard.

Local activities
La Métairie d'Auge is a 20 minute walk from Vicq-sur-Gartempe- The village has a post office, general store, bakers and two friendly bars.
A 30 minute walk in the other direction will bring you to the village of Angles-sur-l'Anglin. With its own ruined chateau the picturesque village is holder of an award for one of the prettiest villages in France. Angles has cafés, restaurants, a tabac and a pharmacy.
The beautiful spa town of La Roche Posay is 8km away. The town is a centre for the treatment of skin conditions for which the spa water is said to be an effective cure. The town has many shops and a supermarket as well as weekly markets. There is also a beautiful 18 hole golf course which is open to non-members.
Chatellerault is the nearest large town (30mins) and has excellent shopping and a market.
The historic city of Poitiers (45mins) is great for sightseeing and shopping.
The nearby rivers Anglin, Gartempe and Creuse are ideal for kayaking. Brenne National Park 10mins away.

Location
Between the villages of Vicq–sur-Gartempe and Angles-sur-l'Anglin in the Vienne close to the borders with the Touraine and Indre.
By road- 240 miles from the ferry ports of Caen and St Malo.
By rail- via Paris to Chatellerault
By air -from Manchester, Liverpool or Stanstead to Poitiers, Tours, La Rochelle or Limoges (car hire available at these airports).
Situated on the edge of the Brenne National Park reserve for wildlife and birdwatching.

Ground Floor- The large farmhouse style kitchen is fully equipped with a range style gas cooker, washing machine, large fridge freezer and microwave. With dining table and chairs for six people. The kitchen has original beams and a large window overlooking the terrace and courtyard.

The lounge is spacious and airy with a french window to the terrace.
There is a wood burning stove, comfortable seating, tv, dvd and games cupboard.
There is also a downstairs w.c.
We are able to provide a high chair, cot and safety stair-gates.

There are three bedrooms on the 1st floor :-

one large double bedroom with seating area and handbasin. This room has a large window with views over the countryside.

one single room - (single bed plus pull out guest bed)
