Kitchen facilities
The kitchen is very well equipped. There is a dishwasher, and a sink with a large draining board. There is a new washing machine, a fridge, a microwave, a mixer/blender, a coffee machine, a toaster and an electric kettle. The electric stove has a full size oven, four hot plates, and there is an extractor fan. All necessary cooking equipment is there, including a pressure cooker, and sets of crockery and cutlery.

External facilities
The chalet is situated on a quiet cul-de sac which leads to a mountain track through the woods. The road is cleared daily in the ski season when necessary, and there is off road parking. The decking terrace is private to the apartment, faces SE and offers spectacular views of Mont Blanc. There is a table for 8, a parasol and a barbeque. The rest of the garden is available for children to play, and animals are accepted.

Special features
For parties requiring an extra bedroom there is a small individual chalet, completely self-contained, a few yards from the apartment. It is set up as a studio, and can be rented separately for 2 people, or together with the apartment. It has a long couch which has a second bed underneath, and which can be pulled out and raised to make a double or two single beds. There is a kitchen corner with a fridge, sink and draining board, two hot plates, mini oven/toaster and electric kettle. There is a table and 2 chairs, a TV and DVD. There is a large shower, and a separate WC with hand basin.

Local activities
St Gervais is a centre for mountain activities of all kinds, and also a well known thermal spa. The ski area is extensive, the lift pass covers St Gervais, Megève and St Nicholas, (all linked by lift), and les Contamines, with its excellent snow record. (10 min away). There are over 500 km of pistes, 2 ski schools and 2 kindergartens. There are cross-country routes and snowshoe expeditions. In Summer the mountain railway and cable car are open for walkers and mountain bikes, making days trips at high level to reach the glaciers, or even the summit. Chamonix, with its network of lifts and walks, is only 20 minutes away. Mountain biking, rafting, canyoning and hang gliding are only some of the activities on offer. There are tree adventure courses, heated swimming pools and lakes with beaches, clay tennis courts, and always the option of a visit to the thermal baths for a day's pampering.

Location
St Gervais is an hour's drive from Geneva, and all but the last 10 minutes is on motorway. Its ski lift links with the whole of Megève, and the lift pass also includes Les Contamines, making a huge area. It is a delightful town, retaining its french charm from its days as a spa town in the 19th century. In Summer the nearest lake with a beach is only 10 minutes away, and the beautiful town of Annecy is an hour's drive. The original rack and pinion railway up Mont Blanc starts from St Gervais.

The living room is big - 5 metres by 4.3. there are double doors leading on to the terrace, and with the house facing south east all the stunning views, and the morning sun, can be enjoyed at meatimes. At one end of the living room is a big table which seat eight, and at the other end a sitting area with a TV and DVD. There is a sofabed which converts to a five foot wide double bed, and two chairs which also convert to beds if required. The walls are all panelled in wood, giving an ambiance unique to the mountains. The heating is electric, controlled by the tenants, and included in the price. There is a decorative hatchway leading to the kitchen.

There are three double bedrooms. All the furnishings are in wood, and all the beds have individual reading lights. The rooms are all fitted with individually controlled electric radiators. The first has a double bed, chest of drawers and hanging cupboard and an en-suite bathroom. The second has two single beds which can be pushed together to make a double, and an area with shelves and hanging space for clothes. The third has full size bunks, a chest of drawers, and hooks for hanging. Duvets and two pillows are provided for each bed, and linen can be supplied for a small supplement.
