Kitchen facilities
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a gas cooker, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.

External facilities
The cottage has a private drive with a large mature, enclosed private garden with lovely views across the Dronne valley. There is an eating area with chairs under the acacia trees in the garden and also a table and chairs on the terrace. A shed contains garden chairs, umbrellas and barbecue equipment.

Special features
The cottage has had a make-over and is now decorated and furnished to provide all the home comforts but with a classic French country look and feel. We have laid new terracotta floors throughout, pretty "faience" tiles in the bathroom and kitchen and upgraded the shower, kitchen and bathroom fittings. A new south-facing terrace is the perfect place to enjoy the views and a cool glass of rosé on warm evenings.

Local activities
A short walk will take you down to our local village, Bonnes, with a good family restaurant, a post-office and depot-de-pain. There are some lovely walks along the river and a lovely riding school nearby. Or just sit at the café and enjoy the comings and goings and the display of summer flowers - quintessential French village life. If you fancy a game of golf, there is a local 9-hole course 15mins. drive away. Alternatively, you can hire canoes at Aubeterre and take a trip down the picturesque, tranquille River Dronne.

Location
Ideally situated to explore all the attractions of the Dordogne (Perigueux 45mins, St Emilion 50mins) or visit the local markets at St Aulaye (5 mins) & Ribérac (20 mins). Swimming - local river beaches or head West for the beautiful beaches & coastal villages of the Charente Maritime (1hr 15 mins). Good shopping in Bordeaux (1hr 15mins by car, 1hr by train) & Angouleme (40mins). Paris is just 2hr 15mins on the TGV from Angouleme. Being in the South West, lots of sunshine throughout the year

There is a spacious double height open-plan living room & dining room with kitchen area. The living room has French windows opening onto a private south-facing terrace. For evenings in, we have provided a CD/Cassette/Radio, a DVD player with a selection of classic films plus a wide range of books for those quiet moments.

The cottage has two bedrooms, a double and a single. There is an en-suite bathroom and WC to the main bedroom and an en-suite shower room and WC to the single bedroom.
