External facilities
Le Mas de la Source has a large (2700 sq metres) garden and has plenty of places to escape to. We have a boulodrome next to a pleasant lawn and picnic table, a shady spot with a bench under ancient olive trees, a two-seater swing chair (balancelle), a fishpond and hardwood chairs & table. Also a lovely walled garden centred round an ancient mulberry tree. We also have a luxury 13 metre salt-water pool with roman steps, hardwood sunbeds and poolside bar.
Car parking is inside the property.
Special features
Our property is also our permanent home and guests are welcome to share it with us. We live in Saint-Sauveur-de-Cruzieres, a small village with many old stone buildings and a small river flowing through its heart. Across the road from our Mas is the boulangerie and we are a few steps from two bar - restaurants. We overlook the countryside with its vineyards and olive groves and dramatic hills in the near distance. Our climate is Mediterranean and we enjoy plenty of sunshine.
Our buildings resemble an old stone hamlet and are centred round its courtyards and a small spring that flows through the middle of the property. One of the cottages even has a personal bridge across the spring.
All our facilities and bed linen, including towels and large soft pool towels are included in the package.
Local activities
With so much to choose from it would take many visits to see all the local attractions. There are grottos and caves to explore, plenty of castles and medieval villages and towns to choose from.
The area is very popular with walkers, & cyclists (even some very serious cyclists!).
The Cevennes, famous for an epic walk undertaken by Robert Louis Stevenson and his donkey, are a short drive away. Here, serious hikers can face challenging trails through the rugged and dramatic scenery.
The rivers Ardeche, Ceze, and Chassezac all have gorges to visit, swim or canoe through.
We have a climbing wall a stones throw from the village.
Fishing is popular in the locale, and permits are available at our local bar.

Location
Conveniently situated for Avignon, Nimes, Arles, and Uzes. With the Cevennes and its hills and valleys close by, we are perfectly situated for walkers and cyclists, & there is horse riding in the vicinity.
There are colourful markets in Barjac, Les Vans & St Ambroix all within easy reach. Uzes market is particularly colourful and even has its own web site.
The Ardeche Gorges are 20 minutes drive away and great for canoeing, kayaking or just sightseeing.
A beautiful part of France!
Living rooms
Our salons have a pleasant and relaxed rustic feel. Most have wooden beams and some have exposed stone walls, they are simply furnished in pine with comfortable sofas which convert to beds if required.
One of our cottages has a vaulted ceiling - we call it Le Cave au Vin! Another has a stone spiral staircase and a lovely roof terrace where you can enjoy views over vineyards and olive groves - we call this one La Confiserie!
Each cottage has a flat screen TV which also plays CDs DVDs and is hooked up to UK satellite TV & radio.
Each cottage has an intimate dining area and a well appointed and attractive "coin cuisine".
Bedrooms
Each cottage has one en-suite bedroom and is ideal for a couple. Because of the nature of the property it is not suitable for small children or the elderly & infirm.
Cozy restful bedrooms with pine furniture feature in all our cottages. We have carefully chosen high quality bed linen with comfort in mind and we have also provided a traditional Provence-style pure cotton quilt.
Each has a modern en-suite shower room equiped with thermostatic shower, quality screen and gleaming vanitory unit with large illuminated mirror. One of our cottages even has a 1.2 metre shower tray!
All towels, including large soft pool towels are provided.
