Kitchen facilities
The kitchen/diner is open plan and is well equipped including an electric oven & gas hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave. There is a dining table and chairs. Double doors open from the rear of the kitchen onto the private rear courtyard garden with patio table and chairs. The cottage also has a private front courtyard garden with patio table and chairs and brick BBQ.The kitchen has ample cutlery, saucepans and other kitchen utensils for a self cateriing holiday.
External facilities
La Mouette shares a 10x5m heated swimming pool with Roman steps and a 2m deep end, with a large sunbathing terrace equipped with sunloungers and parasols. There is a poolside bar where you can buy soft drinks and icecreams and poolhouse with WC and wash basin.
In the south facing communal gardens there is a Boule court, grass short tennis, badminton,swings and sandpit. In the Grange an open barn you will find a common games room with pool, table tennis, bar football, air hockey.
Special features
The Logis was originally built as a Manor house and private vineyard, then later became a working farm. It has since been sympathetically restored and now comprises a detached Owners farmhouse and 4 separate quality self catering cottages.
Approached through grand entrance gates at the end of a private chestnut tree lined avenue, with shaded parking, the farmhouse and cottages all overlook the picturesque fountained courtyard.
The property has been restored to a high standard retaining original features. The 4 cottages share their own 10x5m heated pool. The owners or their guests staying in the farmhouse have the use of a second private 8x4m heated pool.
You have the choice of staying in any of the individual properties or why not holiday with family & friends and reserve adjoining cottages.
Wi-fi Internet access is available on site free of charge.
Local activities
The Logis is located in the centre of the Poitou-Charentes, famous for its cognac, pineau, oysters, mussles and goats cheeses, within easy reach of the sandy beaches at La Rochelle and Royan and the lovely islands of Oleron, Aix and Re, some of which are suitable for surfing and water sports.
Within easy reach is the famous theme park Futuroscope and the Mariais Poitevin (the Green Venice) a marshland area of great beauty with a labyrinth of waterways linking quaint villages through wetland forests where you can go canoeing or punting .
There are various other locations for canoeing, kayaking and dinghy sailing on sheltered lakes and along the River Charente and a variety of zoos,leisure parks and other attractions to entertain the whole family.
Visit medieval towns like Chauvigny, Confolens overlooking the converging rivers of the Charente and Vienne, St.Jean d'Angely with cobbled streets and gothic towers and fine cities like Cognac and the spa town of Rochefort

Location
Whilst sitting on the edge of a quaint village in the peaceful Boutonne valley, Logis de Lussais is also conveniently near to local amenities in the rural market town of Chef-Boutonne and about 1 hr from the beaches on the Atlantic coast and airports at La Rochelle and Poitiers
The surrounding countryside of woodlands, sunflower fields and forests are ideal for walking and cycling.
The nearest restaurant and Boulangerie and the fairytale Chateau Javarzay with is within walking distance.
Living rooms
One of the four cottages on this very private Logis de Lussais estate, this semi detached property has two entrances one leading into the kitchen/diner and the other directly into a ground floor double bedroom ( very suitable for wheelchair access ). There is a spacious kitchen with french doors opening onto the private rear courtyard garden.
An archway from the kitchen opens onto an inner hall with separate doors leading to both double bedrooms and the large fully tiled family shower room and wc. All the ground floor rooms are suitable for wheelchair access.
A staircase leads from the kitchen/diner to the upper mezannine floor with vaulted exposed beam ceiling. Here there is a bright and spacious sitting room and doors openning into the second bathroom with shower over the bath, wash basin and separate wc and a third large family size bedroom.
The sitting room is comfortably furnished with two sofas and an armchair. There is satellite tv, DVD player and hi-fi system.
Bedrooms
There are two double bedrooms on the ground floor.
All the bedrooms feature French style bedsteads and wardrobes.
The first bedroom has a double bed, bedside cabinets and wardrobe with hanging and shelves. Double doors open from the bedroom onto the private rear courtyard garden. The second double bedroom can be accessed both from the inner hall and has it's own entrance from the main fountained courtyard. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed, bedside cabinets and wardrobe with hanging space and shelves.
Upstairs there is a third bedroom. This is a large family room with two single beds and bunkbeds (which can be separated on request), bedside cabinet and long wardrobe with hanging space and shelves. This room is also has enough space for a travel cot. Alternatively the cot can go in either of the ground floor double bedrooms.
