External facilities
From the chalet, enjoy a 45 minutes stroll up to a viewing platform overlooking the famous Glacier des Bossons. If you peer hard, you may see ice climbers risking life and limb amongst the awesome crevasses and pyramids of ice. If you continue the hike, now a more serious route, this will take you to the junction of the two glaciers, Bossons and Taconnaz with truly spectacular views of Mont Blanc's ice falls.
Special features
Walking (or skiing) straight down the mountain from the chalet, there are two bars and restaurants within a 10 minute walk and a bus-stop that serves the whole valley. The train station of Les Bossons is a 15 minute walk (be aware of a relatively steep walk back up.) It is a pleasant 40 minute stroll into town from the chalet. In the evenings, if you choose not to drive, we recommend a taxi back as the bus stops quite early.
For accessing the different ski areas, the nearest is Brevent, a 5 min drive, Les Houches, a 10 min drive, Flegere 15 mins, Grand Montets 20 mins and le Tour 25 mins. Both Courmayeur in Italy and St Gervais, linking to Megeve are 25 mins.
You can either drive, catch the ski bus or pre-book a resort minibus service.
Local activities
The chalet is half way up a black run in the ski area of le mont which has been closed for the last few years. There are rumours that this ski area will re-open for the season 07/08 which would give the chalet back its unique door to door ski position. The chairlift that runs past the chalet is currently only open in the summer peak season to access the glacier. We recommend a car and there is off-road parking.
