Kitchen includes gas cooker with 4 rings and an extractor hood. Fridge and Freezer. Cupboards fully equiped. Everything for a comfortable stay!
There is also a very large table at which you can enjoy your meal. Of course you can also eat outside!

External facilities
For your further relaxation and enjoyment there is a heated swimmingpool (unsupervised), boules pitch, a volleyball-court, table tennis and a sandpit. Inside, a dart board is provided, as well as a selection of games and books. There is also a good selection of information of the region.
In the restaurant you will find a computer, where you can check your mail. We have also installed WIFI, so that you can work on your laptop while sitting on our terrace or in our restaurant
Special features
The ‘petit restaurant’ serves continental breakfast as well as takeaways, such as French fries, snacks. Here you can also have a tasty yet simple meal, and taste a glass of regional wine or a delicious Pineau des Charentes. You also find a small shop for basic provisions as well as sweets and ice cream. And every morning we offer freshly baked croissants, pains au chocolat and baguettes.
We organise a barbeque and pizza evening at the campsite! You may join in!
The complex of EN CAMPAGNE, lies in the hamlet of Essubras (commune Saint Christophe) which is in between Confolens (Charente) and Saint Junien (Limousine) and is surrounded by very peaceful undulating wooded hills and fields .

Local activities
For the active visitor, Essubras is also the starting point for a variety of walking, cycling and driving tours throughout the Charente-Limousine
The nearby lakes feature excellent water quality and are ideal for swimming, rowing, canoeing, fishing (carp and other fish) or relaxing. Other facilities nearby: tennis, golf (5 courses), racing on a circuit.
All over the area around Essubras, you can take a trip into the past and visit a number of chateaux, of menhirs and dolmens. And for those looking to enjoy the flora and fauna, it is at its breathtaking best in the months of May, September and October.
There are plenty of museums and historic places of interest to visit. Such as Angouleme, Limoges, Confolens. Located at about 15 kilometres from Essubras you find Oradour-sur-Glane and its Centre de la Memoire. This village remembers its 642 martyrs - men, women and children - who were murdered by the German SS on the 10th June 1944. The village has remained unchanged since 1944

Location
If you are looking for a summer holiday, a long weekend or a short break in early or late season, our complex "En Campagne" with gîtes (self-catering apartments), and campsite is the ideal place to start a holiday of discovery and enjoyment in the beautiful Charente-Limousine.
The regions is not densely populated, there being just small villages and hamlets and no main roads to drown out the birdsong and where just the stars light up the night sky.
Living rooms
On the 2nd floor: Fully equiped kitchen, dining and living area 2 sofas and an armchair, laminate floor, tv and dvd. Cosy wood burning stove for colder evenings.
Gite La Marchadaine is one of the 6 gites of the complex En Campagne. The main building of the complex was an old 17th century farm house. Which was enlarged and renovated in the 19 th century into a colony the vacances. We renovated the complex in early 2006 into a gite/apartment complex with restaurant, terasse and a campsite
5 gites are in the main building.
Gite La Marchadaine is located in a separate 400 year old original house. Here many authentic details have been carefully preserved... like the big wooden beams and the thick granite walls (more than 60 cm thick!)
this gite is very romantic and nostalgic!
Strictly no smoking inside gite La Marchadaine or elsewhere insuide the buildings!

Bedrooms
The first bedroom in on ground floor. It has 2 single beds put against each other.In an alcove you will find also bunkbeds.
Under the window in this bedroom you will find a very old granite stone kitchen sink.
In summer time this bedroom stays cool because of the thick walls.
On the ground floor you will also find a bathroom with a toilet, a big washbasin and a luxurious shower (with massage!)
On the attic you find the second bedroom with a ceiling with ancient thick low wooden beams. Here you find 2 single-beds.
