External facilities
You have exclusive use of the 15' above ground pool.
There are 2 large terraces providing varying degrees of shelter/ open aspect.
Both terraces have their own barbeque.
Garden tables & chairs. 6 sunbeds & mattresses.
Large lawned areas and immediate access to sunflower fields (in season) great walks, woods, cycle trails.

Claddagh cottage is NOT part of a 'gite complex'
You have private & exclusive use of all the facilities mentioned.
The cottage has hardwood double glazed windows and are all fitted with fly screens for yor comfort.
Private off road parking
We are retired husband & wife owners who live in a quiet corner on site.
We can be invisible or there to help if needed.
We believe having a ground floor bedroom in the cottage is a plus point.
You can enjoy free WIFI access from the comfort of the cottage providing you have a wireless enabled laptop.
Our area within Poiteau Charentes is renowned for its' "quality of light" and is also one of the sunniest in France.
The star filled sky at night can be truly amazing !
We try & include everything we think you'll need so you can relax and travel light.
To welcome you, we provide local wine, cheese, butter, fresh bread & milk with our compliments.
Local activities
Walking, cycling,canoeing, fishing, horseriding, golf - we have a beautiful 9 + 18 hole course nearby and can obtain preferential rates on your behalf.
Local markets, brocantes & bric-a-bracs are always colourful affairs.
There are a multitude of historic villages all with a story to tell.
Trips on the Charente river, visits to the the famous cognac distilleries.

Location
Away from it all, yet only 5 mins from village amenities and 10 mins from N10 interchange at Mansle & 2 supermarkets.
The city of Angouleme has a wealth of history, culture, great restaurants, cafe/bars and shops and is only 20 minutes drive away - and is a new route from the UK serviced by Ryanair from April 2008
La Rochelle, the west coast, Cognac, Bordeaux, Poitiers & Limoges (airports) under 1 hr away.
Ports of Caen/St Malo 4-5hrs drive

The ground floor lounge/diner is comfortable furnished with a natural wood floor, original fireplace with a woodburning stove - perfect for out of season visits.
English digital satellite TV/video & DVD player & a selection of films.
Please feel free to bring your own favourites.
You can also access the internet from the comfort of your cottage with our free Wifi access.
The dining area comfortably seats 6
Upstairs, via its own staircase is another smaller lounge area, with a west facing window and views to one of the private terraces and the open countryside.
For your enjoyment, it has a CD player/radio, games, playing cards, and a bookcase packed with paperbacks, tourist information & guides.
Again you may wish to bring your own choice of music to play.
Bedrooms
Pretty ground floor double bedroom with views across to the pool & terrace.
Airy & comfortable with pine floor & furniture & conveniently situated next door to the Shower room & toilet.
The second bedroom is upstairs and is a large L shaped mezzanine room accessed by a wide (not steep) staircase
There is a double bed and 2 singles - well positioned apart to provide a fair ammount of privacy.
Ideal perhaps for families or friends sharing or indeed parents with children.
Alternatively the 2 singles can be put together to make a king size bed - as one of our photographs shows. They are comfortable sturdy beds which don't drift apart when placed together in this way.
All bed linen is provided and changed on a weekly basis.
The attractive Shower room on the ground floor has a large shower space ( not a cubicle)
Toilet, wash hand basin, shaver point, and an oil filled radiator to keep the room warm & cosy when needed.
Hairdryer & towels provided.
