Location
The region is famous for its high blue skies and long sunny summers, wide sandy beaches, Romanesque churches, traditional markets, seafood delicacies, goat cheese and of course good wine and Pineau. Local restaurants offer a wide selection of regional dishes and a good variety of wines. The Atlantic coast and islands of Oleron and Re are within easy reach and other places of interest include Futuroscope theme park, 'Green Venice' and several nature reserves and leisure parks.
