Kitchen facilities
A fully fitted kitchen is provided with a good range of cupboard space. Cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine are all included along with the usual appliances necessary to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.
The kitchen is traditional style with a fine oak beamed fireplace. From here there are views across the rolling fields and front garden.
External facilities
A private swimming pool is available in the large (one acre) garden. There is an enclosed pergola offering shade when necessary and close by is a traditional french barbeque for those balmy summer evenings.
A badmington set and other games are included along with large areas of lawn for those who like to kick a ball around. Spectacular views can be seen from all areas of the garden which completely surrounds the house.

Upon arrival, a welcome pack awaits you comprising of wine, fresh bread, butter, milk, free range eggs and fresh fruit.
The owners are only three kilometres away so in the rare event you may need assistance, they are always on hand to help. Your nearest neighbours are well over 500 metres away so you can have a very peaceful holiday.
Electricity and gas are included in the rental charge. Linen is supplied and firewood can be provided (for a small charge), during the colder months.
The gite is only two kilometres away from L'Absie. The village has two boulangeries, a mini-supermarket, a coffee shop, a newsagent, two bars, two very good restaurants and is easily within walking distance through the spectacular oak forest.
Local activities
Vouvant, one of the "Plus Beaux Villages of France" with its art galleries, quaint bars and restaurants is a lovely day out. And the medieval town of Parthenay will delight you with its weekly cattle and farmers markets.
The Mervant forest, one of the largest woodlands in France, offers superb walks around the lakes and forest. Here you can go boating, fishing, swimming and there's even an adventure park and zoo.
A must see is the port of La Rochelle with its cobbled streets and stunning architecture.
Take a trip to the Puy de Fou (30 mins away), the original medieval theme park with a cast of hundreds who re-enact the history of the Vendee. Spectacular displays including the flying of birds of prey, and Europes only full size replica of the Roman Coliseum with lions, tigers and gladiators.
Visit Futoroscope in Poitiers (about 50 mins away) for a mind blowing experience in cinematography(collection of 3D cinemas)

Location
This gite is within the Deux-Sevres area bordering the Vendee, in the Poitou Charentes. There is easy access to the West coast beaches (La Tranche and La Rochelle), Futuroscope, Puy du Fou, La Venise Verte (canals) and Cognac to the South.
The gite is set in a peaceful rural location ideal for walking and cycling. The house is located in a farming community offering traditional markets and friendly affordable restaurants. The main supermarkets and farmers markets are only 5 mins away.
Living rooms
On the ground floor the fully fitted kitchen opens directly onto the large, private garden (one acre in size), offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside and your own private pool (18 foot diameter).
The separate lounge is a large room (40 m2) with oak beams and traditional stone walls. It has english satellite television, DVD player, a music system and comfortable seating for up to eight people.
A good range of books, DVD's, darts, board and cards games are available in the gite. Also you can try to beat the kids at Boules or Petanque (very french).
Bedrooms
All four bedrooms are spacious and have stunning views over the surrounding countryside.
The rooms all have exposed beams and are fitted with authentic french furnishings. The bedrooms are a combination of three double and one twin bedded and the sleeping accommodation may be added to by use of the lounge sofa bed.
The bedroom accommodation is complimented by two bathrooms with one being conveniently on the ground floor.
