Kitchen facilities
The Kitchen/Diner is fully equipped. The ceiling boasts a ceiling fan. All necessary cooking and catering equipment is provided, along with a "Welcome Pack" of provisions and wine. Large double windows look across the terrace, Pool and Barbecue area.

External facilities
The garden has lawns, shaded by a Walnut tree. The Pool terrace is large and enclosed. The open terrace features a Koi pond. There is ample parking, inside the gates. If this is not enough, why not take an early morning stroll through four acres of land and lake? This area is perfect for quiet Picnics.

Special features
This is the only Gite on the Premises. That makes it private and it remains exclusive to the enjoyment of the holidaymakers who stay in it. If you are seeking respite, come and make the most of a peaceful holiday in a quiet location, with clean air and a restful atmosphere. The main house was part of the original farm. The Gite is only two years old but has been sympathetically constructed, in style with the house. Zen La Chaussade is unique - a Property that everyone knows and loves. As far as location is concerned, it is central to many attractions.

Local activities
The area attracts hikers, cyclists, fishermen, photographers, artists and Gourmets, who enjoy the delicacies of the region - Foie Gras, Truffles and Pineau. Horse-riding is popular and there are many local Equestrian centres. The city of Angouleme is just thirty minutes away and worth a visit, boasting a wealth of culture. It is steeped in character, with winding cobbled streets, full of Restaurants and Bars, along with the covered Market and Open Market, which is busy all week. The Tourist Centre in Villebois-Lavalette will offer everything to cater for your needs. Villebois has Banks, Post Office, Pharmacy, Supermarket, Hairdressing Salons, Bars and an excellent Restaurant - not to mention the Chateau, which stands out as a Landmark on the hilltop.

Location
Zen La Chaussade is situated in the heart of the countryside, 30km from the city of Angouleme. La Rochelle Port is 2 hours away. Bordeaux, Limoges and Bergerac Airports are 1h 40mins away. Angouleme airport is 40mins away. The village of Villebois-Lavalette, 5km away, is one of the largest in the area. The region offers markets and fetes all Summer, with attractions such as Brantome - "The Venice of Perigord" and the Caves of Lascaux within reach.

Reception area leads into a lovely bright Salon, tastefully decorated, carpeted and furnished with comfortable furniture. Cards and games are plentiful, for those lazy Summer evenings. The ceiling is beamed, in keeping with the ancient farmhouse. An undercover terrace is fitted with garden furniture and washing lines. From the Salon, a door leads into the Kitchen/Diner, with windows looking across the sunny terrace, garden, Pool and countryside.

In the adjacent building, there is a Double Bedroom, with ample storage, well-stocked bookshelves. local infomation and writing desk. There are also teamaking facilities. An enclosed Courtyard is built in to this room. The furniture is tasteful and the floors are carpeted. This Bedroom has an ensuite Shower room, with mirror, sockets and UK/France Adaptor. Glazed doors lead to the garden and Terrace.
