Location
Spared from the destruction of 2nd World War, the old town, with its prestigious historic past, has retained all its charm. Its port, its old streets, its museums bear witness to the wealth of architecture which has made it famous. Its atmosphere and picturesque scenery have made it a magnet for painters, writers and musicians since the 19th Century. Eugène Boudin, a forerunner of impressionism, was born here in 1824. Honfleur is also a fishing port and a trading port specialised in wood.
