Kitchen facilities
The huge fully fitted kitchen has chunky Ikea Varta units which accommodate all the appliances, including an oven, you would expect in a quality property, plus the small ones such as kettle and toaster, vacuum cleaner and iron.
There is a large fridge/freezer and plenty of storage space. It is equipped with everything needed for self catering including kitchen utensils, pots, pans, dishes, bowls, serving dishses, good cutlery and china.
External facilities
The original barn doors have been recovered and now form shutters to the two bedrooms at the front of the property. To the side a wrought iron gate leads down a few steps into a small flagged area and the front door. There is ample parking immediately outside the house. To the rear of the property is a small terrace and lawn from which you can enjoy the views across the Tarn and down into the valley.
There is garden furniture and an electric barbecue for outdoor living.
Special features
Le Vieux Chemin is a unique property. It is so named because the original village road (chemin) led down the slope where the steps are, and through the area beneath the barn where the entrance hall and kitchen are and continued through our courtyard, past our front steps, beneath part of our house and out the other side.
During the summer months the property is suitable to combine with Le Four to accommodate 12 - 14 persons.
You will find folders full of local information, maps and books in the living room together with restaurant reccommendations.
Local activities
This area is particularly renowned for the milk ewes (Brebis) whose milk is used solely for the production of Roquefort cheese. The town of Requista holds an annual 'Fete des Brebis' in June. In addition, there are fetes in every village during the summer months, brocantes fairs, and evening supper events with music and dancing. Connac usually holds it's fete during July and it is the only one to last the whole weekend with boules, competitions, music, dancing and vast suppers.
There are many opportunities for water sports in the area. Requista has a very modern sports centre and swimming pool, with tennis courts. The local tourist office is a good source of information.
Places well worth visiting: Brousse le Chateau and Lincou are charming. Local artists and potters work and sell their work there.
The unusual brick built cathedral and Toulouse Lautrec gallery at Albi, the suspension bridge at Millau, the old town of Rodez and picturesque villages to the north.

Location
In this area of outstanding natural beauty , you are close to two of the listed most beautiful villages in France, vast national parks, the Tarn Gorges, good food and wine, reasonably priced restaurants and some with Michelin reccommendations, plus cities such as Albi, Rodez, and Millau with diverse cultural history and activities.
Relax. Watch birds of prey soar, walk the many local 'randonnees', or within 2 hours drive south be on a beach or sampling the wonderful wines of the Minervois.
Living rooms
On the ground floor there is a roomy entrance hall which leads straight ahead to the kitchen, or to the right, into an open plan living space. The whole house is light and airy and has cool terracotta tiling throughout. There is a huge sitting area which opens out to the terrace and garden through a wall of french windows, and is furnished with comfortable modern settees and armchairs, decorative shelving, rugs, lamps and side tables. A very spacious dining area which will seat 8 in comfort, has stonework, beams and timber pillars recovered from the original building. A timber staircase leads to the top floor, and there is direct access to the large kitchen through an archway.
Bedrooms
There are 3 large bedrooms and 3 large shower rooms. The largest en-suite has a super king futon style bed, in addition there is one en-suite twin and another double with a separate shower room across the corridor. All are furnished with good quality duvets and pillows, coordinating bed and bathroom linen, bedside rugs and tables with lamps, chests, and occasional tables and chairs.
