Local activities
Within easy reach of the property are a variety of sporting and cultural activities. There are many signposted walks through the countryside (some maps available at the property on request), the GR6 for serious ramblers, canoeing on the River Dordogne (5 mins), horseriding (5 mins), golf at the Souillac Country Club (20 mins) - 18 holes, or the Domaine de Rochebois at Vitrac (20 mins) - 9 holes. The area also offers fishing, lake and riverside beaches, adventure and waterparks for children, gardens, castles, even hot-air ballooning for the more adventurous ! 4 bikes are available for use at the property for a small charge, with 35km of scenic cycle paths from Sarlat to Souillac.

Local restaurants serve a variety of delicious dishes, many based on Dordogne produce (duck, goose, foie gras, truffles, walnuts, chestnuts, wild mushrooms, goat's chees).

The local markets all sell fresh fruit and vegetables delicious cheeses, wines and other local produce.

Location
Located close to the town of Sarlat, in the "golden triangle of the Perigord Noir. An idyllic rural retreat, in close proximity to all the main activities and tourist attractions. The ancient medieval town of Sarlat has restaurants, shops, bars and a bustling market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Easily accessible from the main A20 motorway or by low-cost flight (Bergerac, Toulouse, Limoges) with car hire. Nearby Carlux (2km) has a bakery, butchers, grocery store, post office and bar.

The gite has been tastefully furnished throughout and sleeps 2 or 3 in 1 double bedroom + sofa bed.

Downstairs is open-plan with :
* Large lounge/diner/kitchen Tiled throughout, it opens onto the front terrace.

* The lounge and dining space contains a sofa, TV/DVD and table with 4 chairs.

The large double bedroom has a double bed, limed pine chest of drawers and matching bedside cabinets with lamps. The Victorian washstand is for decorative purposes only !
