Kitchen facilities
The kitchen is modern and very well-equipped with quality appliances and utensils, including: Smeg range oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee machine and kettle. We provide quality sharp knives, high quality saucepans, plenty of glasses, plates, bowls and other crockery, a picnic set, coolbox, icepacks, and a selection of cookery books. There is also a Moroccan mosaic table with seating for 4, a table fan, and double doors opening onto a small sunny balcony.
External facilities
Unusually for such a central location, Casa Paradis has a lovely private patio garden. A central mulberry tree provides a natural parasol, and there are Mediterranean plants and herbs in the borders around the courtyard. There is a Weber barbecue and teak garden furniture. It's a quiet, secluded place to relax and perfect for alfresco dining in the shade.
Local activities
Corsica has superb beaches, lush unspoilt countryside and stunning mountain scenery, but is perhaps best-known for its famous son, Napoleon. The island combines the best of French culture and lifestyle with that of its close neighbour Italy, resulting in a unique fusion which is defiantly Corsican. Refreshingly, Corsica has somehow managed to avoid mass development. Calvi is on the north west coast, in the Balagne region which has rugged mountains, national parks, beautiful mountain villages and a stunning coastline. Calvi is situated on the southern tip of a crescent-shaped bay backed with snowcapped mountains. The 6km long sandy beach stretches around the bay, and offers a variety of watersports. Calvi has a chic waterfront and yacht marina lined with restaurants, cafes and bars, and charming cobbled streets and alleys boasting an array of boutiques and delicatessens. Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor spent not just one but two honeymoons here, and with very good reason!

Location
Casa Paradis is situated in the heart of beautiful, historic Calvi. It’s within easy walking distance of the stunning 6km long sandy beach, as well as plenty of restaurants and shops, the yacht marina and Calvi's historic citadel - making it the perfect base for a relaxing self-catering holiday for families, couples and groups of friends alike. Light, spacious and airy, and furnished in a modern, contemporary style, the house is very comfortable and well-equipped.
Living rooms
The living room is spacious, with 3 comfortable sofas, a traditional open fireplace and a large dining table with seating for 8 people. Entertainment provided includes a comprehensive multilingual satellite tv package (including English language and sports channels), dvd player, cd stereo, board games and books including a French dictionary, maps and guidebooks to the island. There is a telephone (outgoing calls only) and WiFi.
Bedrooms
All of the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with comfortable beds, clapperboard wardrobes, ceiling fans, mirrors, chairs, teak bedside tables and lights. There is a double bedroom on the ground floor, and a double bedroom and two twin bedrooms on the first floor. The twin beds can be pushed together if so desired.
There are two bathrooms on the first floor: the family bathroom has a full-length bath with shower attachment, a separate shower cubicle, two large sinks, storage space and a hairdryer. The second bathroom has a shower cubicle, sink, storage and a hairdryer.
There is a separate toilet on each floor.
