Kitchen facilities
The kitchen is separated from the living room with an attractive plant entwined trellis. It is fully equipped and has a cooker, fridge and microwave as well as ample cupboard space. All crockery, cutlery, teatowels etc are provided.

External facilities
Unfortunately there is no garden but on the island opposite there are picnic tables and we provide a fold-up picnic table and fold-up chairs along with, portble barbacue and beach equipment.

Special features
Next door to the house is a museum which houses an 11th century church. The museum is open for visiting every Saturday. In our courtyard we have some Roman features and a troglodyte cave which we often show to interested visitors.

Local activities
In St Savinien there is a large supermaket on the outskirts of the town. There is also a railway station with a couple of trains per day. The town has an open air swimming pool, a boating lake with minature boats you can ride on, a crazy golf course and many walks.

Location
St Savinien is a small picturesque town on the river Charente. In the town are all necessary services- Supermarket, several restaurants, small Co-op, cafes, newsagents and several other commerces. An ideal location for visits to the Atlantic coast or inland to Cognac, St Jean d'Angely, Saintes, Niort , La Rochelle or even Bordeaux.
Coastal resorts such as Royan, la Grande Cote, St Georges de Didonne, Meschers, Ile d'Oleron, Fouras, Chatelaillon Plage and La Rochelle are within an easy drive.

The living room is extremely spacious and has a trellised off kitchen area. The two large windows overlook the river and at one window there is a table and stools - ideal for an aperitif with a view!! There is a comfortable settee and an armchair with a small coffee table. A TV and video occupy one corner and opposite is an antique buffet containing games and videos. The dining area is located near the kitchen and composes of a sturdy table and 4 dining chairs.

The bedroom has a large double bed with bedside tables, a wardrobe and several cupboards. A door from the bedroom leads into a hallway off which is the bathroom with bath, shower, washhand basin and toilet. The other door of the bedroom leads into the living-room. Bath towels are provided as is all bedlinen. Please bring your own beach towels.
