Kitchen facilities
The kitchens are both well equipped with crockery etc for up to 10 people. Gas cooker, microwave. 50/50 split fridge freezer (very important if you don't want to spend every other day shopping because you haven't the space to freeze anything.)washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, coffee percolator.

External facilities
The property is surrounded by beautiful countryside with only two other houses that are some distance away. To describe it as peaceful is a misnomer in as much that the birds, frogs and crickets are here to serenade you. With plenty for the children to do with the 10 x5m pool, swings and sandpits, you can just put your feet up and enjoy.

Special features
The mature landscaped gardens are a pleasure to wander around with strategically placed seating, overlooking the beautiful lake. If you sit quietly for long enough you may even see the resident Kingfisher fishing from a branch. There are plenty of Carp to fish.
We have made a 'putt and putt' course, purely for fun with plenty of golf putters and balls to keep the kids amused.

We have some bikes, table tennis and rods for the fishing.

We can offer Nature workshops for KS1-4 by a qualified teacher who can help entertain the children in an educational way whilst you enjoy a well deserved break. The courses run from 10 - 4pm including refreshments for just 30 euros per child. Times can be more flexible if required.

We also offer babysitting at an extra charge.

Local activities
The area is beautiful for exploring by foot, bike or car.

In the next village there is an opportunity to meet the local wine producer and more importantly taste his wares. It can be arranged as you wish. (We can even drive you there and back if you think you might like it!)

Both Montendre and Jonzac have good night markets and entertainment during the Summer. They have activities such as canoeing at their respective lakes.

Jonzac has a fabulous water park just 10 minutes away with an outdoor activity area nearby in the summer.

Arcachon at about 90 minutes away is worth a visit to the biggest sand dunes in Europe, beautiful beaches or waterpark if preferred.

St Emillion, a World Heritage site is about 40 minutes away and definitely worth a visit.

Location
Ideally situated in the southern part of the Charente Maritime, only 45 minutes from Bordeaux, Saintes and Angouleme, all boasting a wealth of character, whether it's the architecture, culture or ambiance all have something different to offer.
Only 40 minutes away is Cognac famous for - well it's Cognac! Here you will find Martell, Remy Martin to name but two, offering guided tours.
Jonzac and Montendre, under 15 minutes away have wonderful night markets in the summer months.

Monet and Matisse have been lovingly renovated to a very high standard and furnished in a contemporary style whilst not taking away the French appeal. Tiled throughout to keep the properties cool in the heat of the summer.
Both are open plan with 2 comfortable sofa beds,coffee table with useful toy storage, TV/DVD/SAT/CD and WiFi internet.
Monet faces to the front and side of the property overlooking the lake and gardens (including the Monet style bridge!) Whilst Matisse faces to the side and rear of the property overlooking the pool area.

Monet has 3 bedrooms upstairs all with exposed beams and stone walls. One room is with a double bed and ample storage, one a family room with a double bed and Two singles and ample storage, and the third contains two single beds and some storage.

Matisse has the family bedroom downstairs with one double bed, two single beds and ample storage. Beautiful exposed stone wall. The two rooms upstairs, one has two single beds and one has a double bed. Both have Velux windows with blackout blinds.
