in St.Jean D'Angely there is a water centre with competition pool, fun pool with slide,cafe,outside relaxing area plus gym.a lake with pedalos,canoes play area,cafe. the Abbey was first built in the ninth century and was a stopping point on the campostella pillgrims route and pilgrims still stay in a annex to this day.there is fishing on the river Charente.Saintes is a large town 20 mins. drive with shops,bars/cafes, roman architecture.

we are in the renowned Cognac region,which is 30 min drive, also the "home" of Pineau a blend of white wine and cognac. the wonderfull beaches of Royan are less than 1 hr away as is the enjoyable port of La Rochelle and airport with flights by Ryanair and Flybee.Poitiers airport is 1 hr away.Bordeaux airport is 1.5 hrs drive ,Limoges which is just over 2 hrs .St. Jean D'Angely is 10min drive with all ammenities and the A10 is ten min. Calais 8hr Le Havre 4.5 several chateau/churches to view.
