Kitchen facilities
The fully equipped kitchen, which leads out to a sunny courtyard, provides all the modern conveniences of home.
There is a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, kettle, coffee maker, oven with ceramic hob and extractor fan and toaster. There is also ample crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for 8 people. We also provide all the dishwasher, and washing machine soaps as well as all detergents and cleaning products you may need to ensure a comfortable stay.
External facilities
The sunny courtyard is ideal for spending the evening, whether dining, BBQing or simply relaxing with a glass of wine. The vine covered pergola provides ample shade and there is also shaded private parking for your car. The 10 x 5 m pool can be accessed through the gardens and is totally enclosed for the safety of little ones and has plenty of loungers, parasols and pool toys.
For the children there is a wooden playhouse, large sandpit, ride-on toys and bikes all in the mature gardens.
Special features
The stone summerhouse provides a beautiful setting for al fresco dining in the evening or simply enjoying the cool of the shade by day on the comfortable sofas. For your relaxation there is a CD player, fridge and internal BBQ, there are also sofas, coffee table and dininig tables and chairs. The pool is clearly visible from the summer house to give parents and children their "own space" whilst still ensuring their childrens safety.
Many guests have enjoyed using the games room which has a pool table, table tennis table, table football, darts and a large selection of outdoor games such as badminton, boules, croquet and football.
There is a large selection of mountain bikes for all ages as well as helmets and child seats.
There is also a games pitch in the orchard for the more enegetic.
As the property is available all year, it is an ideal base for house hunting in the region. The cottage has central heating and 2 woodburning stoves. Phone and internet connection can be arranged.
Local activities
There are numerous local activities to make your holiday truly memorable. You could choose to cycle the myriad of country lanes or take walks amongst the vineyards. Why not follow "les etapes du Cognac" which is are a trail of routes taking in the areas viticulture, gastronomy and culture.
For the sports minded there is fishing, canoeing, golf, horse riding and sailing or, for something a little gentler, try shopping at Bordeaux, museums at Saintes or explore the ancient port of La Rochelle with it's beautiful yacht harbour. If you are one of many food connoisseurs, you can wander the fantastic markets all vying to sell the best cheeses, hams, pates and shellfish or sample some of the freshest regional cuisine in one of the many local restaurants.

Location
The cottage is set in the historic peaceful vineyards of the Cognac region and yet is only 15 mins from Cognac town centre. The area has much to offer, including the Atlantic coastline, with it's many beautiful beaches, islands and fishing villages. There are many unique towns such as the romantic port of La Rochelle, Saintes, Poitiers and Bordeaux and children will certainly enjoy the zoo at Royan, the aquarium at La Rochelle or the Futuroscope adventure park at Poitiers.
Living rooms
The large sunny living room is equipped with Satellite TV, video player, CD player and CD's. Also for your enjoyment there are a large number of books, games, pre-school toys, videos and a comprehensive library of guide books and brochures on the area. There is seating for 8 and a woodburning stove for cosy evenings out of season. Access to the gardens, pool, summer house and games room is from the living room.
The living room leads on to the dining room, which also has a woodburning stove and french windows leading to the courtyard. It has a table and chairs for 8 and high chairs are available on request.
There is a bathroom on the ground floor with shower, toilet and wash hand basin and an additional separate WC. The upstairs bedroom has an en-suite shower room with WC.
Bedrooms
There are 3 bedrooms in total, two of which are on the ground floor making it ideal for anyone with mobility problems.
Bedroom 1 - Double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table.
Bedroom 2 - 2 single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers.
Bedroom 3 ( on first floor) - 4 single beds OR 2 single beds and 1 double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table. En-suite shower room with WC.
PRICING STRUCTURE AND OFFERS
1. Prices are based on up to 6 people sharing, there is a supplement of £100 per week for parties of 7 or 8.
2. A 25% DISCOUNT IS APPLICABLE FOR COUPLES APRIL, MAY, SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER 2009
