Attractions in Poitou CharentesFuturoscope Thrills galore for all the family!  Futuroscope, one of France’s most visited attractions, is a theme park that provides both entertainment and education for all the family. There are over 20 theme-based attraction areas, of which 20% are renewed each year. Futuroscope is located near Poitiers, Vienne. La Vallée des Signes  The primate animal park "La Vallee des Singes" (or Monkey Valley) was created in 1998 to help in the preservation and protection of primates and their habitats, and is unique in France. There are three aims of the park. Firstly, to make man aware of environmental problems as the destruction of the tropical rain forests is having a devastating effect and some primate species are nearing extinction – rain forests are the natural habitat for approximately 60% of primates. Secondly, helping with conservation projects in their places of origin, and thirdly, facilitating the reproduction of endangered primates. The park covers over 37 acres and consists of about fifteen tree-filled lush green islands where the monkeys can move about in total freedom and come into direct contact with visitors. A heartfelt and educational day out for all the family. La Vallée des Signes is located near Civray, Vienne. More information can be found on their website Zoodyssée  This animal park has grown significantly in recent years due to large investment in the concept "humanimal" which explores the comparisons between human and animal behaviour. The park which houses over 600 animals in 25 hectares of preserved natural landscape, has always seen an emphasis on wild European animals, and has developed teaching programs to help visitors become aware of animal behaviour. In order to ensure that the animals live in a natural environment the park has produced a landscape full of the natural fauna of the animals' habitats.Once you have explored the park, the kids can enjoy themselves in the adventure playground. Zoodyssée is located in the Forêt de Chizé, Villiers-en-Bois, Deux Sèvres. More information can be found on their website (in French) Pescalis  The largest fishing-orientated centre in Europe, Pescalis near Moncoutant in the North of Deux-Sèvres, has over 100 hectares of lakes with a variety of specialist sites, including night fishing. The complex is not just for anglers, there is an aquarium, parks, horseriding and other activities. A place for all the family to visit.Pescalis is located in Moncoutant, Deux Sèvres.
