Les espaces verts sont composés de prairies et de bois. Espaces exceptionnels pour les promenades et les piques niques. La région autour du Hameau est riche en histoire. On connaît le région du Quercorb avec Chalabre village principal où se déroulent de nombreuses animations pour tous les âges.

The region around the Hameau is rich in history. The area is known as the Quercorb with Chalabre as its capital and has seen many events throughout the ages. La Dame Blanche (The White Lady) lived in Puivert Castle in the 14 century and it was she who ordered the river draining into the great lake to be re-directed, this flooded both Mirepoix and Chalabre and the unfortunate lady drowned. Rennes-Le-Chateau is famous for the priest Sauniere who suddenly came into great riches during the 1800's and gave splendid parties for the rich and famous. Rumour has it that he either found evidence linking Mary Magdalene to this area or that he found Cathar gold. Either way the site is featured in Dan Brown's ‘Da Vinci Code’ and the murdered concierge in the Louvre bears the same name. The property is lettable all year round and charges range from 1900€ in the summer and around 1100€ in the winter. The studio is available at an extra 400 euros per week. Within an hours drive of the house are various ski slopes, the coast, Spain and Andorra. The three closest airports are all accessible by Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe from most of the UK.
Lake Puivert is close to the house. It has a man-made sandy beach with pedaloes for hire. A life-guard is on duty during the summer months and there is a small restaurant, tennis court and children's play area. This is a perfect place for a picnic.
There are many walks locally and distances vary from a gentle two kilometres to more than fourteen depending on your ability. The easiest one is the one passing the house which goes through Campeille down to Puivert a total of some 3 kilometres. Stunning views of Puivert castle can be seen on the walk and at the end there is the added attraction of a bar! It is also possible to walk around the woods of Mouiche which are full of flora and fauna depending on the time of year. Buzzards can be seen in the winter months and during summer there are humming bird moths, woodpeckers and hoopoes not to mention the wild pigs and deer.
