The area is on the border between Dordogne and Charente, with a range of attractions and services nearby. Montmoreau is the nearest town (5KM) with the full range of commerce- supermarket with fuel and gas, bakers, butchers, tabac, florist, banks, secondary school, pharmacies, restaurants, doctors dentists etc. Builders supplies, garages, fuel and service.
The pretty village of Aubeterre is nearby with its bustling, shaded square and restaurants make it a favorite eating place in the summer.
Angouleme is the main shopping area , this city has an array of shops to tempt anyone in need of retail therapy! Steeped in History, many an hour can be passed walking the old city and enjoying the Cafe scene. Along with Theatre and many festivals and events throughout the year.
Angouleme is also served by the main TGV line between Bordeaux and Paris making Paris in a little over two hours, a day trip, lunch and? and home. There is a small airport at present connecting with London city airport. Bergerac, Bordeaux, Poitiers and Limoges airports are all under two hours drive.
There are three Golf clubs within an hours drive, one nine hole and two eighteen with driving ranges so no need to lose your handicap. Indeed lessons can be had for beginners and old hands alike.
