Being adjacent to each other the two properties are just a 2 minute walk from all amenities which includes beautiful library, theatre and cinema, assault course and lake for fishing, three bars, one hotel, brasserie, 2 local restaurants, pizzeria, indoor tennis court and established tennis club offering lessons to all ages, indoor community swimming pool. The local Mairie is only opposite the house too, always useful to ask questions on the goings on around the town.
Schools
Are located at the top of the village if you prefer private and state schools are located around the lake and accommodate all ages from 2yrs - 15yrs of age.
Having relocated to this beautiful part of South West France 8 years ago, we are delighted to present our family home and adjoining gite to you, providing an ideal environment to raise a young family and run a thriving gite business with proven track record.
The gite and house are situated in the centre of a bustling, bastide town with a population of approximately 2,500 residents; we have educated our four children in the local schools, integrated into the thriving local community and all learnt to speak French fluently and some of us even Spanish!
With flights form Rodez - London Stansted, 30 minutes drive away, and train links to Toulouse, you’re never too far away to visit international friends but at the same time enjoy the total calm and serenity of this region, the pace of life, the security for the children and the warm climate.
We have established advertising for the gite reservations as stands and have seen year on year increases of guests passing through our doors. Contact us for more details on turnover etc
A fantastic adventure with either your children or grandchildren. The Segala region offers an abundance of activities for the whole family and for the most part they involve walking, swimming, sight seeing or having fun at local festivities which there are plenty of to get you well and truly integrated into the community.
The schools and the French education system is great, for the most part with a good mix of children from all backgrounds. Our kids have loved being given opportunities living in another culture and learn at least two additional languages to their mother tongue of English. There are even French courses in the town for any adult new comers as well as more advanced courses in the neighbouring larger towns, such as Rodez or Villefranche de Rouergue.
Accommodation
Divided over 3 levels; on the ground floor are the 3 garages, ideal for workshops, games rooms or even keeping the cars! There's a cave too for storing groceries and wine.
On the first floor is the kitchen/ dining room, study/office, lounge with wood burning stove and heating vents into the double bedroom above and into the hallway, laundry room and WC. The kitchen, hallway and lounge all have access to the Sun terrace which surrounds the house.
On the second floor are four double bedrooms, the master bedroom hosts an en suite too and there's a family bathroom.
Rising to the third floor is a fully insulated and renovated attic space for another 2 bedrooms, however we have only converted to offer 1 additional bedroom on this floor.
The heating is electric in the attic space and there's full oil fired central heating throughout.
The garden stretches out behind the house towards the countryside, where we have access to footpaths. The major part of the garden is lent to the pool area and lawn and then there's a separate area for chickens and vegetable patch if needed.
