There’s also a community hall next to the stade where you can join in yoga classes etc. Chabanais is a few minutes by car and there you’ll find even more restaurants and shops, an open air swimming pool, rail station and a modern supermarket with fuel.

The region has lovely lakes with swimming beaches and water sports and is still something of a well kept secret. In a couple of hours you can drive to the west coast, be in Paris on Eurostar from Limoges, or by the TGV from Anglouleme.

All this and it’s easily accessed from Limoges airport – with several flights per week – the ferry terminals and Eurotunnel.
