Property description

If you are looking for a home ( holiday or otherwise!) in Charente Maritime about 5kms from glorious beaches and separated from them by forest, our apartment could be the answer. It is very spacious occupying a large part of the ground floor of a wonderful old house and sleeps 6 easily with the added advantage of an attached independent studio with space to sleep another 2 or 3 people. The studio has its own shower cubicle, washbasin, toilet and kitchenette. Both open on to a sunny, private South west facing patio (ideal for the BBQ) and at the back of the house we have two parking places, and a 30 second walk takes you to a delightful shared pool (little used). The walls of the house are two foot thick so keeping it nice and cool in the summer (when the temperature hovers around 30C). Each room has an electric heater so if you are down in Winter its nice and snug.

St. Augustin is a small village which has the essentials; a bakery, tabac, bar, small supermarket and post office. The house is about 100 years old and was formerly a hotel, it was converted into 8 apartments about 20 years ago.
We are located on the edge of a pine forest 5Km from the most wonderful sandy beaches. You can drive (or cycle) to the beach through the forest and will find abundant parking and picnic areas. It is an ideal spot for a great holiday, there is something for everybody. Enjoy the Atlantic beaches, walk in the forest, visit the Zoo or swim in the pool, your choice!.

We are 100Km north of Bordeaux and 60km south of La Rochelle The chic resort of Royan is about 10Km away. Royan has a large sandy beach and is an excellent spot for windsurfing. The town boasts a casino and is ideal for an afternoons shopping, souvenir hunting or eating. At night it is an extremely lively spot. In all there are about 30Km of sandy beaches stretching from Ronce les Bains to Royan.
N.B.The apartment has a lot more floor space than the average holiday home in the area. (68sq m approx) accommodating 6-8 people.
