Property description
Charming stone house with terrace, garden, summer kitchen, open barn and views.
Reputed to be the oldest house in the village this house has been mostly renovated to a high standard and needs finishing off. The accommodation is arranged on three floors. There is a living room, dining room and kitchen on the gound floor, the dining room leads directly out on to a south facing balcony with fabulous views across the vineyards and surrounding hills. The living room is light and has a wood burning stove. The Kitchen is directly accessed from this room. There is a also a toilet on this floor a cellar and another room currently used as a workshop.
On the first floor are four rooms two good sized bedrooms one en suite and two smaller interconnecting bedrooms. On the top floor is an enormous bedroom 45m2 with exposed beams and a bathroom. Just behind the house is a small garden. Attached to the side of the house is another workshop.
Immediately opposite the house across a narrow alley way is an unusual stone barn which has a rounded back wall and once belonged to part of the eleventh century chateau. The ground floor area measures about 30m2 and there is enough height to make another floor with a possible mezzanine. An interesting project.
Across the pathway are the gardens the ruins of two small stone houses and the summer kitchen. This has been renovated and makes a wonderful place to sit out enjoy the peace and tranquility of the village and have a barbeque.
The village benefits from a daily bread van and boasts a fine range of wines an AOC chardonnay, blanquette, cremant and some red. It is a ten minute drive to Limoux.
