Dinard

Famously frequented by Winston Churchill, Joan Collins and even Lawrence of Arabia, Dinard has often been referred to as the "Cannes of the North". With its unusually warm climate a result of the gulf stream, it has become an extremely popular seaside town whilst maintaining its heritage and traditional buildings. Indeed, the Dinard architecture (dating back to the early 1800s) inspired Hollywood director Alfred Hitchcock, and can be seen recreated in some of his most famous films.

Dinard has much to offer for all people who stay there. There are fine-sand beaches here, walks along the promenade and the marina, parks and an equestrian centre. The market comes to town three times a week presenting a variety of local produce with a quintessential French atmosphere. The variety of beaches all offer something unique and valued, from large and sandy bays to tiny inlets.

Further afield, the old city of St Malo is just next door and is a famous tourist spot. A little bit further and you can visit the impressive island of Mont St Michel with its unmistakable Benedictine Abbey perched over the sea.

Dinard is very easily accessible. The nearest ferry port is St Malo, about 15 minutes away by car. St Malo is serviced by ferries from Portsmouth, Guernsey, Jersey and Poole.
