It held the first International skiing competition in February 1907 and is still a first class ski resort 100 years on; it has since been linked to larger skiing areas such as Sestrières, Sauze d’Oulx and San Sicario, venues for the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics. This huge skiing area, totalling 400 km of Franco-Italian slopes, offers a fantastic variety of breathtaking landscapes and old authentic villages.

The southern Alps region combines the best features of the Alps and the south of France. Thanks to its geographical location, it benefits from maximum snow coverage and the wonderful Mediterranean climate : 300 days of sun a year !!
