  Here, at the Chateau du Puits Es Pratx, our combination creative holidays are aimed at sports & art enthusiasts, of any age, who want a holiday where they can practice their favourite skill whilst at the same time taking part in either an active sport, discovering the fascinating history of the region or taking a regional wine tour & enjoying some of the wonderful wine & food of the region. More than one course or tour can be held at the same time & there are special children’s courses on offer as well. Individual holiday itineraries are created around each client’s chosen interests & preferences.   Combination creative holidays can be roughly split into three categories: 1 • Artistic creativity combined with an active sport or adventure activity. For example, Photography, wind surfing & mountain biking or Gourmet cooking course, wine tour & mushroom hunting in the mountains. 2 • Cultural interests combined with creative courses & relaxing sport. For example, Wine tours, cooking course & walking or Historical culture tour, jazz piano lessons & canal du midi walking. 3 • Sport interests combined with leisure time & a creative course. For example, Horse riding, dance fitness & language course. or Water sports, castle tours & painting.   Activities available. A range of creative courses can be arranged while you are on holiday, subject to numbers & time of year, with professional experts in Cookery, Photography, Music, Dance, Yoga, Language & Painting. Day or half-day courses can be booked & more information obtained by email. We organise our own wine tours by the day or half-day to a selection of private Vignerons both in Les Corbieres & Le Minervois. Complete the experience & visit the producers of the wines you drink & absorb the passion with which they are made. You also have the opportunity to buy their wines at vineyard prices. Cultural & historic tours can also be arranged that can include visits to the Cathar Castles, Le Gorge du Galamus, Le Pont Du Gard & Arles & the Salvador Dali museum just across the Spanish border. And furthermore there are many regional activities including horse riding, tennis & golf, canoeing & kayaking, white water rafting, wind & kite surfing as well as many children’s and beach activities.   Your Accomodation. Chateau du Puits Es Pratx was built in the Napoleonic 3rd style of architecture around 1840 and became the largest private wine Domaine in Ginestas, in the Minervois region of the Aude, producing wine, right up until the early 1990’s. We have tried to preserve its unique character and atmosphere for guests to enjoy and at the same time create a 'home from home' environment that is warm, friendly, and above all, relaxed and informal. We provide a more ‘hotel-style’ service for guests staying in the Chateau rooms than do many Chambres D’Hôtes and all our Self-Catering accommodation is equipped to far higher standards than most French gîtes.
