Gaillac Wine Events

Gaillac Vineyards

Situated in the north of the Tarn departement, the Gaillac Appellation area covers 2.500 hectares spread over 73 communes, for an AOC production of over 165.000 hectolitres. The vineyard of Gaillac was one of the first growing centres in Gaul. Today, the appellation comprises of one hundred independent producers and 3 co-operative cellars. More details...

There are many events throughout the year or you can just visit a vineyard at anytime.

Gaillac PrimeurLaunch of Gaillac Primeur
Date: From Thursday 20th November 2008

On Wednesday 19th November, the maire organises an official evening with a meal and a concert at the Salle des Spectacles and the traditional opening of the first barrel by the dignitaries of the Dive Bouteille at midnight.

On Thursday 20th November, the Bar and Restaurant of Gaillac welcolme you to celebrate the launch of the Gaillac Primeur. A London Double Decker bus takes you to Toulouse to celebrate the launch of the new Gaillac in the Pink City

On Friday 21st November from 1930 , the Degourdy's Club organise a major tasting where everyone is welcome at the Salle des Spectacle. There will be a wide choice of food (oysters, meat, desserts).

On Saturday, you will need at least one day to recover

On Sunday 23rd November, a walk, a race and a cycle ride is organised throughout the morning. There will be stop-over in the vineyards and more tasting.



Other Events

Printemps du Gaillac3rd Gaillac Spring Festival
Date: From 1st May to 4th May 2008

During 4 days, many activities are organised all over the Gaillac vineyards:

Nature & Sports : Walks, Horse rides, Plane trip over the vineyard, boat ride (Gabarre or Canoe)

Gastronomy : market, food fair in Gaillac and special menu at selected restaurants

Vineyards visits : in 2008, over 50 vineyards open their door to public taking you for a tour around their vineyard to explain you how wine is made and offering you to taste their wine range.












Concours des vins de Gaillac29th Gaillac Wine Selection
Date: Monday 19th May 2008

A professional jury will grant gold, silver and bronze medal to the wine harvested in 2007 and in 2006. A consumer jury will also award gold medals.

























Fête des Vins de Gaillac30th Gaillac Wine Festival
Date: Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August 2008

This event takes place in Parc Foucaud in Gaillac. Just buy a glass at the entrance and most vineyards will be there to make you taste their wine.

Many activities for the youngest (theatre play, clowns) and the oldest (wine tasting class) during the day. At lunch and in the evening, gastronomic meal are served in the garden of the park. In the evening the meal is followed by a ball and some firework. A great day to fully discover Gaillac wines.
