If you like a mystery (not murder – or is it!) – try Landscape of Lies by Peter Watson. A billiant insight into symbolism in art and in general. I have read it three times – now reading it again as non-verbal communication is my thing which when I was a trainer I specialisted in. I Love it and it is a book which teaches you something maybe you didnt know. I like to aways learn something from a book, eve, if it is only something small.

Have just finished ‘The Girl who saved the King of Sweden’ .. definitely a marmite book! .. and I liked it! Will now try and find ‘The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared’.

Have just finished my first Anne Tyler book .. mmm probably also my last!

“The Beginner’s Goodbye” left me completely bewildered about the credibility of the main character which was a huge negative for the book! IMO very shallowly written.

Just finished reading ‘The Trouble with Goats and Sheep’, a debut novel by Joanna Cannon.

Loved it!  ..  beautifully written with a lovely sense of humour about suburbia during the hot summer of 1976. A different whodunnit!

If you liked Birdsong, then ‘My Dear, I wanted to tell You’ by Louisa Young set during WW1 hopefully will be to your liking. Another excellent read.
