That’s a breath of fresh air, gives us a bit of breathing space then.
How long will this farce go on? How many kits will be out of date before the fines start?

I know, quite possibly the ones that are first to complain if someone, or something, upsets their own personal apple cart. Any opportunity to tell the rest of the World what they think and bu**er everyone else and bu**er what the topic in the OP was. It’s all me me me.

Just to get back to the original theme, I was stopped for a random breath test last week and the Gendarme did not ask about any breath test kit or anything else come to that.

OK but where the hell can you buy them from ?

One of our visiting friends found some in an obscure shop miles from anywhere and bought us two, but I have been keeping my eye out for some more as we have several vehicles and haven’t seen any for sale yet.
My search includes Auchan & Le Clerc Perigueux, Intermarche Montignac, Le Clerc & Carrefour Sarlat, Le Clerc & Carrefour Brive etc.

Since the government has admitted there aren’t the stocks available I don’t think there is any hurry. If the stocks cannot be found (and there is also the problem with the EU over the specification stating they must be NF rather than accepting any with an European standard marking) they’ll probably kick the can a bit further down the road before the March 2013 deadline.

Who cares, just relax and stop searching, you now have until March next year before fines are introduced – assuming the law doesn’t get binned before that.

If they’re not freely available on every shop and street corner by then even the French are nor perverse enough to fine drivers for not having something they cannot even buy !

And for god’s sake the fine is only €11 anyway

Stopped two days ago for a routine check, just asked for paperwork and a look in the back, nothing else.

I suspect that they are giving them away and then you get one a month, or something, by automatic subscription.
