    Hal, they already did some reality testing several years ago:

    And the time for a 10 amp disconjocteur to trip with a dead short on 1.5 sq mm cable is? How many milliseconds?

    One of these fine (rainy) days I will take some snaps of the disused antique wiring remaining in our barn, from when it was a sawmill, the 400 volt 3ph supply cable to the main tree munching machine was about 1 1/4 inches diameter, all old rubber covered stuff. Not an earth wire anywhere! The fuses were the old porcelain type and they all have the same size lead wire across them for fuse wire!

    And post them on here! (the snaps)
