Don’t know if it has been mentioned before but Cafe Portebleue in Verteuil-Sur-Charente does a lovely lunchtime meal. Been there several times. Looking forward to going back in the summer

Perle de Chine, Parc D’Activites Du Ponteix, Boulazac, Perigueux. Tasted like everything was cooked 3 days previously, only recommendation we can give is do not go there.

Can recommend the restaurant on the border of the Creuse/Indre at La Chaume Blanche, just next to Pouligny Notre Dame called Au Fils du Temps. They have no website and do not advertise but it is a lovely quirky French restaurant with excellent food and great ambiance.

Hey Spotty, we have tried twice to eat lunch at Le Sentier des Saveurs, three weeks ago and two days ago  but it is always closed. Do you know if they are still trading, the menu board is still outside?

‘Ose’ in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie (Vendee) – they do a great set menu lunch with 2 courses for €12 plus an excellent a la carte menu.

I’ve no idea, I rarely venture to Parthenay & that lunch was a pleasant one-off.
    They’re probably on holiday.

Dined out last night at Resteraunt le Saint Genis, St.Genis de Saintonge, and it just goes from strength to strength. Excellent food at reasonable prices, two menus available in the evening and a very good lunchtime menu or the plat du jour. The food all sounds familiar but has a slightly different slant to it and is really unusual, like a carrot and coriander gaspacho! Brilliant.

A really varied wine list at sensible prices and a listing in the back of the menu of all their local suppliers.

Give it a try, these young proprieters deserve to succeed. Unusually. al fresco amemities include a swimming pool!

    I will be returning soon

i ate recently at Le Compostelle ,Tucson 16140.nice restaurant good freshly prepared food, however i found the service slow.

but its worth to visit the museum in the Abbe in the main street, which is fascinating,on 4 levels, with a large garden.

there is a large parking opposite the restaurant
