Hi,

We have a couple of small apartments that we are hoping to rent out shortly.

My question is are there any regulations on how up to date the electrical installation has to be in order to rent the property?

As from the first of July 2017 a so called diagnostic électrique is obligatory, read this information by Promotelec. It should be safe, this doesn’t mean that everything has to conform to the latest regs, the Amendement 5 of the French electrical code NF C 15-100.

So a contrat de location vacances, location saisonnière, de gite rural is another story.
