    i recently changed address after 10 years and my business was registered at the previous address for postal purposes etc

    the same applies at my new address which for post is my business registered address ,but now keep getting letters through the post  from different companies asking for sums of money ranging from 100 to 300 euro; for registering my ‘new business’ etc ,  ( what new business ), ??,

    today i received two;  one from someone  calling themselves APE, demanding, 254 euro for inscription, and adding if i dont pay i could receive upto 1500e penalties , ( and if pigs could fly; the price of pork would go up )!!,  the other, for registation @ 194.11e which although a different name; looks very similar in layout to the other,  and black and white photocopies ;

    obviously ive ripped them up as it is im sure another scam, but has anyone else had these through the mail ?

    Part of our current house had been a retail shop, which closed a couple of years before we bought it.

    Somehow the fact that the premises had changed hands generated a string of similar letters, some quite official-looking, suggesting we owed money or had to join some organisation or other.

    Presumably some people starting a new business are unfamiliar with all the necessary procedures and inscriptions, and get conned into parting with money by such scams.

    Edit: We hadn’t even registered a business.

    Any changes to businesses be it creations or change of address etc are put on a public register which the scammers all trawl.

    I am not a business but registered my (not) Trading Name as a marque deposée and got flooded with the same type of invoices, 6 years later I still get 5 or 10 E-mails a day either extorting money or telling me that I need to buy a new set of the code du travail and 20+ posters to put up on the wall so that my (non) staff can read them the space for which I would need larger premises :lol:

    yes i can imagine the problem is widespread;  i think from the wording of the letters they are implying this is a new business so these payments need to be paid; but they are in the bin, and will continue to go in the bin,
