Choucroute tonight.Too dangerous to eat during the week when my son is working or me part time due to the sauerkraut effect :-$ . Not a true traditional one but we like to put our own touch on it with different sausages and a few extras!

I’ve been making bubble and squeak recently by finely shredding sprouts, cooking in a little butter and oil and then adding to the potatoes and left over meat. They really are very nice fried like that instead of being just boiled sprouts and cook fairly quickly.

Lazy today – basmati rice, poached egg on top with some melted butter poured over that and natural yogurt poured on top – sounds disgusting but is actually really nice :)

Last night it was butternut squash soup with a hint of chilli, followed by salmon with roasted mixed root veg, then some English cheeses that we needed to use up (French friends didn’t eat much of that), then a yummy homemade galette de roie (with feve and crown) that Ff brought round..

Tonight, it’s curried root veg leftovers…
