Why can’t I read any of the responses on this thread? Only the reply box. I’m interested to know what the F/N point is? Other threads operate as normal.

It’s obviously an Android thing. It’s working normally here on Windows 8. Another wee thing for the techies to look at perhaps. No further response required.

I’ve read this thread and what robertarthur has to say. I’m not a sparks so don’t go spouting uninformed opinions, I get enough of that on audio forums – I’ve only got questions.

I’m either going to have to get a house built for me (bad back) or be the gaffer on a self build, my preference by a mile. It does seem that a lot of the regs are actually about making work for French sparks. I recently went to take a look as a favour for someone who stupidly bought an old barn that a Frenchman was very happy to get rid of. The building aspects are irrelevant to this thread.

I could’nt believe the amount of wiring that had been put into the place, it was a nightmare. The buyer is an IT man and he showed me  that each room had 2 sockets with Cat6 wiring when as he said wifi is the norm today. Is it really true that there should be a phone point in each room , crazy when I have 2 cordless phones and have just bought a smartphone. TV – 2, 1 in the lounge and 1 in the bedroom. I brought CT125 cable for that from the UK.

Power points – 2 in the open plan lounge, 2 in my music room, one of which will be high quality treble sheilded for my sound system. 2 in the bathroom for shower and heating. Kitchen probably 3 doubles. 1 in the bedroom.

Lighting – all lights will be LED, lounge, 2 ceiling ones for low wattage near silent fans. Music room 1 point for reading. Bedroom 2 reading lights, which maybe battery operated LEDs. Kitchen 3 lights. bathroom 1 set around mirror and 1 wall light.

All lighting will be LED, so total wattage will be no more than 70W. In the lounge and music room battery operated LED uplighters only.

I’m seriously thinking about installing at the least battery storage and a quality inverter and very possibly a diesel generator. Not worried about noise since I will be using aercrete block construction for the generator/batteries with attention to air input and extraction. This could involve a serious outlay as I don’t intend to have gas for cooking, much as I prefer it but lugging gas bottles around or having a huge carbunckle in the garden is a no-n. Does anyone have experience in this field. I really would like experienced input on this.

O h h Sh**te. Wrong again! I’ll have strip out all my HDMIs and 8:1 Surround sound cables then.

    That’s a real bummer then.

I would lie on top of the stairs and smell the cigar smoke of Castro.
