I’m thinking of buying an Internet radio. I have heard that some models/brands can no longer reeive BBC stations due to the system that the BBC use. I would want to be able to get R4 and 6 Music and R2. Is there anyone using an internet radio that can advise me on a model/make that definitely does receive these. Thanks in advance.

I use an “OCEAN  DIGITAL   WR-233.  and have just checked – All those stations work OK .  I run it over WiFi on a WiFi extender running over the mains in my Man Shed.  I do get occasional blips in the transmissions for 3 – 10 seconds,  but I put this down to the wifi extender.  Generally pleased with the unit,  but it only has wifi connection (Not hard wired) and USB, AUX in socket.

Thanks bobh2000. I’ll look that one up. Thanks for checking the stations. wi-fi only shouldnt be a problem, although ethernet cabling might be an an advantage. Anyone have any other suggestions, perhaps with hardwire connection possibility?

We have had a Roberts Stream 83i for a few years now – not the cheapest but the best.

If you have a problem or want some advice, you can call their service dept in the UK.

Thanks Bernice, Can you get BBC sations on it? I read somewhere that certain Roberts and Pure internet radios stopped receiveing them due to The BBC changing the platform they use. (I think today is the last day that anyone can post on this forum as French Entree are closing it!).

My Stream 93i (upgraded this year to 94i with added Bluetooth) receives BBC OK. Excellent radio.

Yes, no problems receiving BBC radio stations.  Roberts tech support are very helpful with any queries.
