Melting Pot

Melting Pot is an association, based in Darnac in the northern Haute Vienne aimed at the integration of all nationalities living in the surrounding areas.

It was started in Spring 2004 by two young French teachers who by meeting other nationalities through their work appreciated the difficult issues of settling into a new country. Since then the Melting Pot association has grown and become a meeting point for friendship, fun and mutual support.
Melting Pot members have a wide range of experience of living in France and while we cannot give formal or official advice, we can share our experiences and knowledge and help point you in the right direction.

Our members belong to various French organizations and clubs; Familles Rurales, walking groups, art classes, Keep Fit classes, badminton, tennis and shooting clubs and local choirs to name just a few .
We meet at Ancienne Ecole at Darnac every Wednesday morning between 10.00 and 12.00, except the first Wednesday of the month when we have an evening meeting at 20.00.
We organize a number of outings and activities throughout the year many of which are linked to local events. We sing at the Fête de St Jean at Darnac, enjoy lunch at various local restaurants, have talks from visiting speakers and organize soirees, quiz nights and games evenings.
