The department of Hérault is possibly one of the most dynamic in the Languedoc-Roussillion. Neighbouring departments are the Tarn, Aude, Aveyron and the Gard. One of the Hérault’s charms is the diversity with beautiful mountain ranges, gentle hills and meadows.
Due to its varied landscape, Hérault is popular amongst tourists and expats who come to enjoy the golden beaches in the warmer months, the vibrant city life in the departments capital of Montpellier and the charming villages scattered on the outskirts of the department.
Hérault boasts typical Languedoc-Roussillion properties meaning village houses made from stone, as well as farmhouses and Mas properties.
The department is well connected with two airports, Béziers and Montpelier, providing routes from the UK. The airports at Carcassonne and Nîmes lie outside the Hérault but are still accessible.
