This spacious family home is only a hundred meters from the village centre but sitting in just under half a hectare of secure private garden with views over the surrounding countryside. The house is reached via a drive into a gated and gravelled courtyard with an ornamental garden and covered parking for at least three cars , a caravan, boat or horse trailer.
The house, unique in this area, is a renovated former wagon barn and adjoining single storey former farm building with its own entrance door. This is now the farmhouse style kitchen with a stunning country view. There are built in wooden cupboards, space for free standing furniture, a four year old SMEG five burner range with electric oven, with space for an American style fridge and freezer, plumbing for a dishwasher and washing machine. Above the kitchen is the beamed roof space suitable for storage. There is a telephone point and French TV connection
Two steps up from the kitchen is the salon which is light and airy, with an attractive marriage of stone and timber making a very welcoming room for all seasons. There is a dining area at one end. The Jotul wood burner in the beamed chimney place radiates heat around the house. A gravelled terraced area is reached through French Windows which is ideal for al fresco dining. There is LiveBox and telephone connection and TV point for French reception and English Freeview.
Beyond the salon is bedroom 1 with generous proportions for a king sized bed and armoire. The en suite bathroom is also plumbed for a washing machine. The light from the picture window enables this bedroom to be used currently as a studio.
A hand built wooden staircase leads from the salon to the first floor. Beneath the half landing is a space for coats etc. Leading from the first floor landing is the family bathroom with a built in cupboard and heated towel rail. Bedroom 2 with countryside views has a built in cupboard/wardrobe and is currently used as a study with bunk beds. A central corridor leads to bedroom 3, a family room with a double and single bed, also with a built in cupboard/wardrobe. The window overlooks the courtyard. Bedroom 4, the master, is double aspect and is large enough for a super king size bed. There is also a small lounge area with an aerial connection for English Sky reception and an adjacent en-suite shower and w/c
Outside there are two former cattle sheds. One is suitable for development to residential accommodation and appears on the cadestral as such. The other could be suitable for conversion to stabling and is divided at one area for pigs and chicken. Through a door in this building is a gravel area suitable for barbecues leading to an attractive planted area. There is also a productive vegetable plot which is stock proof.
Lennon has a thriving public school within safe walking distance. The village has a children's play area , a netball and tennis court, also a bar, post office and library. A rambling group meets weekly in the village and all are welcome, dogs included. There is a village hall and a meeting room attached to the Mairie where village clubs meet. An excellent oven baked pizza van visits on a Friday evening and is very popular.
The house is within a three minute drive of the Nantes-Brest Canal for walks, cycling and fishing. At Pont Coblant, within cycling distance, there is an attractive canal side bar/restaurant and a kayaking club.
Some of the safest bathing in Brittany is half an hour's drive from the house.
