BEAUTIFUL 19th CENTURY MANSION IN A VILLAGE, BETWEEN RENNES AND NANTES (LOIRE-ATLANTIQUE DEPARTMENT)
In the north of the Loire Atlantique, between Nantes and Rennes, in the heart of pretty rolling countryside, lies a quiet village with a population of over 5,000. Here, village life takes on its full meaning, with conviviality being a strong value.
The region's historic heritage is rich in châteaux, manor houses, chapels and mills. You can walk along the ancient Roman road linking Nantes to Rennes, which Caesar travelled with his legions.
In the surrounding area, the Nantes-Brest canal, pretty rivers such as the Don and the Gâvre national forest offer the promise of great walks and hikes.

This mansion house, built in 1870, is set in a village street lined with beautiful houses. It spans over 200 sqm of floor space in 3,500 sqm of wooded parklands. The house has belonged to several of the Commune's mayors.

Through a beautiful wrought iron gate, you can see the house behind a superb magnolia tree that is over a hundred years old. The house is built of rendered stone rubble with a slate roof.
The main south-facing façade is perfectly symmetrical. The sculpted window frames and attractive dormer window give the property a noble character. The building is adjoined by a small pavilion.

A few steps lead up to the original entrance door, which opens onto a hall with carved wood panelling. The stairway leading to the first floor has a fine wrought iron banister.
To the left, a door opens into a living room (25sqm) featuring mouldings, ceiling roses, finely carved wood panelling, herringbone parquet flooring and a black marble fireplace.
A dining room (20sqm), very bright with its bay window, opens onto an east-facing terrace. It communicates with the cosy kitchen (13sqm), which has access to the north-facing facade.
To the right of the entrance hall is a through lounge (25sqm) in light colours with a white marble fireplace, adjoined by a study (11sqm).
Another entrance leads to the west gable. A staircase leads from this entrance to the first floor.

The first floor comprises 4 bedrooms with parquet flooring, two shower rooms and a linen room.
On the second floor, there is a large attic (67sqm) that could also be converted.
A 50sqm cellar completes the house.

- There are two old stone outbuildings to the north of the building.
One of the roofs is new, the other needs work.

- A detached garage for one car.

- An outbuilding used as a shed.

Two gates provide access to the property.
The surface area of the land is 3,500sqm, part of which is constructible.
The land is enclosed. There are plenty of nooks and crannies where you can relax or enjoy a meal.
The park features a wide variety of flora, including lilacs, azaleas with violet flowers, camellias, palms, two cedars, an American oak, a purple maple and a lime tree.
