Kitchen facilities
The corner kitchen has fitted cupboards, sink, electric hobs, microwave oven and refrigerator with small freezer compartment, plus electric kettle, toaster, etc.
A full inventory of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils is provided sufficient for up to four people.
External facilities
Guests have the use of a 10 metre x 5 metre salt water swimming pool shared only with the owners.
There is an extensive pool-side terrace with table, chairs, parasols and sun loungers. plus a solar heated fresh water shower
The pool area has views over the Dropt valley and catches the sun from morning until late evening.

There is ample ample car parking space adjacent to the gite entrance.
Local activities
In the Southern Dordogne you will find a rolling green landscape reminiscent of the unspoilt English countryside of times past, but with an abundance of impressive chateaux and fortified medieval villages to explore. You will also find many sites of prehistory such as the world famous caves at Lascaux, where many thousands of years ago, our distant ancestors did their stunning paintings of mammoths, bison and deer.
Tha varied landscape of the area offers orchards,vineyards and fields of sunflowers, wheat and maize, together with demse forests and sheer cliffs. From Monpazier, the beatiful Lot and Dordogne valleys can be reached within 45 minutes.
This region of the Perigord is justly famous for its gastronomic specialities such as foie gras, truffles, goose and duck dishes,whilst the well known wine areas of Bergerac, Bordeaux, Monbazillac, Cahors and Duras are all within easy reach.
In the area, there are excellent opportunities for walking, cycling, canoeing, golfing and riding.
Location
This traditionally stone built property, Le Therme Rouge, lies in the heart of the French countryside and yet is less than a mile from the fascinating 13th Century town of Monpazier. The house has an acre of private parkland and is set on a south-facing hillside enjoying views towards Monpazier and over the well-wooded landscape of the Southern Dordogne.
Bergerac Airport, a 40 minute drive away, is served by low-cost airlines Ryanair and Flybe operating from a number of regional UK airports.
Living rooms
The self-contained open-plan, double bedded apartment is on the ground floor of the house and features some exposed stone walls and a cool tiled floor.
It opens via French doors directly onto your own paved terrace with patio furniture and a barbecue.
En-suite, there is a shower room with wasbasin and bidet and there is a seperate toilet.
For out of season use there are electric convector heaters.
There is a 'bistro' type table and chairs together with comfortable seating and ample storage and hanging space.
A video player/TV is provided, so bring your favourite tapes (no TV reception)
The apartment contains a good selection of paperbacks (English), a small collection of videotapes and various card and other games.
