For Nathalie Valmary, the owner and author of several cooking books, the kitchen is a very important place.
The kitchen is fully equipped : 5 fires and 2 ovens cooker, a hood, a silent dishwasher, the table seats 8.
The fridge displays fresh water, crushed and cubed ices. The size of the fridge is for a family with two parts, fridge and frozen.

External facilities
The green gated garden (850 m²) is a fresh and peaceful oasis in the center of the town.
You'll have a wonderful time in total privacy. You will enjoy the pool (10 mts x 3 mts) .
It is a wonderful private space where you can play or swim during the day or at night thanks to its lights changing colours.
You'll love walking to the farmers' market, have a cool white wine around the pool and cook on the outside kitchen, the huge australian BBQ with griddle, grill and wok fire.

Local activities
Carcassonne sports two UNESCO historical conservation areas: the medieval city, and the canal du midi. It makes the town famous all over the world.
The 14th of july, Carcassonne is the place to be. The amazing medieval castle fireworks attracts more than 700 hundred thousand people. You can see this spectacular show without moving from the maison Valmary.
The festival of the two cité, one of the highest festival in France, hosts in july international artists in the beautiful theatre of the medieval City. Downtown it offers free concerts. The last week of august the spanish week with corridas, bodegas, concerts.
The rest of the year there are organised feasts around the wine and at the end of the year Christmas magic and its outside skating ring.
Cathar castles are just incredible and villages like Rennes le château which inspired the Da Vinci Code have to be visited.
For joggers, walkers and bikers, the banks of the Aude river are perfect.

The property is located in the center of the charming and sunny town of Carcassonne, south of France.
You don't need a car. All the attractions of the city are at a few steps away from the house.
You'll enjoy the bars, restaurants, shops, the historical environment of the city center and of the medieval city. The famous french way of life is all around you.

When you enter in the house, at your left are the 3 sunny lounges in a row, with wooden floors, molded ceilings. In the first one the fire place, and a sofa.
In the second one there is a sofa, the plasma with many dvds for all the family, and the satellite with foreign TVs dvd, and an old stained glass window.
In the 3rd lounge there is the dining room that seats 8 with a big window with view over the garden and the pool.
It is a very lighted place. Exposure EST, South and West.

Bedrooms are on the first and second floor.
On the first floor:
The green bedroom is very calm with a beautiful view on the garden and the pool. There is a doble 160 cm bed.
The second bedroom is lime white and black. It is the biggest one. It has 3 windows and a balcony that when you are on you feel like Sissi the imperatrice. The view is on the front of the house with 2 windows that makes it the noisiest bedroom and one on the side. There is a 160 cm bed that can be divided in two single beds.
There are another 2 rooms, an office and a piano room with a sofa (that can be a single extra bed), books.There you can take time, read, listen to music, play piano...
There are also a bathroom and a toilet on this floor.
There are 2 bedrooms, a dressing a bathroom, a dressing and a beautiful view on the medieval old castle.
