Kitchen facilities
The kitchen is well equipped with gas stove, microwave oven, refrigerator and other kitchen equipment which you would expect to find. Don't worry you won't have to bring with you a kettle, teapot and good carving knife - these will all be included.
External facilities
The house is set in a 2.000 sq. metre garden with trees and flowers.
On sunny days the garden serves both as a dining and cooking area with all the expected facilities. (barbecue, garden furniture etc). The plus is the magnificent lime tree which serves as a natural parasol during the hot days of high summer.
For young children the vast garden serves as a safe playground where they can play football, table tennis etc.
Special features
This property has been in the family for several generations and has recently been tastefully renovated. It's been designed for practicality and for "living".
The owners produce alot of their own food as do most of the locals i.e. vegetables, eggs and poultry.
The area is known for good eating and the restaurants in this area are recognised for providing good quality food at reasonable prices.
If you prefer to cook at home you will be spoilt for choice for good local produce including cheese, honey, local beef etc.
There is a market at Charolles every Wednesday and at La Clayette on Tuesdays.
Local activities
A short walk to the village (1km) and you will find two bakers, a grocers, post office and hairdressers. St. Julien is also fortunate enough to have a doctor's surgery and local nurse.
The village also has tennis courts and an area for petanque.
The area offers a diverse and rich heritage - chateax, roman churches, remains of numerous domains and castles. One can visit the chateau de Dreé with it's superb gardens or the Dun Mountain which boasts a vast 360° viewpoint over 35 villages.
A wide range of leisure activities are available walking, biking, horseback/pony riding, tennis, fishing, swimming and skating at the skate park in La Clayette.
Further away Cluny (monastic town) is really worth a visit with it's national stud farm which dates back to 1877.
Basically you won't get bored and this region also boasts some very good local wines which can be enjoyed after a hard days visiting.

Location
The atmosphere here is very relaxed. There is a large garden where the children can play whilst the adults relax under the lime tree which provides natural shade on hot sunny days
The cottage is surrounded by the rolling hills of the charolais with its herds of cattle in the lush green meadows. Just a little further away are the typical market towns of Charolles and La Clayette where life has another pace; not forgetting the "not to be missed" ecclesiastical town of Paray le Monial.

Bedrooms
The bedroom on ground level is ideal for all. Children can sleep whilst the parents enjoy a barbecue in the garden. The room has views on to the garden and the modern practical bathroom with italien shower is close to hand on the same level.
The bedroom upstairs is tastefully decorated with a double and single bed and the normal furniture one would find in a bedroom.
