The Corrèze is perhaps the least well-known department of the Limousin, however this really is changing. The Corrèze is geared up to give you one of the most action packed holidays of a lifetime. From Mountain Biking to canoeing, Horse riding to Hang-gliding and from fishing to ballooning, there really is something for everyone in the Corrèze.
Water lot of fun!
The Corrèze has more than 40 man made lakes, 6 of which have a surface area of more than 100 hectares, and 4 water-sports centres which can be found in Argentat, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Objat and Tulle. In the Corrèze, holidaymakers are spoilt for choice with a wide range of activities available, such as swimming, sailing, windsurfing, speed boating water-skiing, jet skiing and rowing.

Canoeing and Kayaking are fun ways of exploring the Corrèze and can be enjoyed on 5 rivers offering different levels of difficulty: the Corrèze, Diège, Dordogne, Maronne and Vézère – numerous hire stations can be found along these rivers. For those who would like either some lessons or indeed participate on an organised trip, there are 4 canoeing and kayaking centres that can be found at: -
1) The base de Bourbacoup in Tulle (on the Corrèze)
2) A.D.N Centres in Argentat, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Brivezac and Monceaux-sur-Dordogne (all on the Dordogne.)
3) The Base de la Minoterie in Uzerche (on the Vézère). Rafting also available.
4) The A.D.P.A centre de la Lombardertie in Saillant de Voutezac (on the Vézère) Rafting also available.
More activities to enjoy whilst in Correze
Fishing
The Corrèze is home to 5000 km of streams and rivers and more than 4000 hectares of reservoirs and man-made water recreation areas, making it one of the largest geographical water networks in France.
Fish Species
The waters are populated with high numbers of Carp, Bream, Barbel, Bleak, Roach, Gudgeon, Minnow, Tench, Dace & Chub. There are also high populations of carnivorous fish such as Pike and Perch. Brown trout and the common grayling varieties can be found in the departments many rivers. The department has 8 second category night carp fishing locations. The Maison de L’Eau et de la Pêche de la Corrèze ; based in Neuvic and Lissac-sur-Couze, organise exhibitions, conferences and fishing courses.
Golf
There are four golf courses in the Corrèze; Golf du Coiroux in Aubazine, Golf de Brive in Brive-la-Gaillarde, Golf de Neuvic d’Ussel in Neuvic and Golf du Chammet in Peyrelevade.
Climbing
There are 8 fully equipped sites in the region which can be found in, Aubazine (Saut de la Bergère), Bort-les-Orgues ( Orgues), Gros-Chastang (Le Pont de Sagne), Moustier-Ventadour (Rocher de Ventadour), Saint Cernin de Larche (Cirque de Ladou), Servieres-le-Chateau (Chapelle Notre-Dame du Roc cliff), Uzerche (Rocher du Moulin in the Vézère Gorges) and Voutezac (Saut du Saumont).
Adventure Park
The Adventure Park of Aubazine at the Tourist Centre in Le Coiroux. 5 completely safe aerial routes through the trees for visitors of all ages.
Val Adventure in Lanobre (Chateau de Val). 4 aerial routes through the trees.

Here you can try hang-gliding, Kite-Flying, Winched Flights, Micro light Flying, and Paragliding.
Hot Air Ballooning can be tried in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne at the Association Montgolfières en Riviera Limousine, and also at;
S.A.R.L. Corrèze Montgolfière in Objat and Pompadour,
And Cyrille Girodolle in Pompadour.
Walking
There are more than 400 short walks offered throughout the department, these route can be found in the local tourist offices, and in the local “Topo Guides”
Mountain Biking (VTT)
There are 3 beginners routes in the Corrèze, one in Liginiac, in Lignareix and in Monceau-sur-Dordogne.
Cycling
There are 3 permanent cycling trails for cycle tourists in the Corrèze (a full description and map of these can be obtained by contacting the Comité Départmental de la federation Francais de Cyclotourism – Tel: 00 33 (0)5 55 29 98 78.)
Horse Riding and Trekking
There are 16 riding centres all belonging to the Comité Départmental de Tourisme Equestre, which offer walks, treks, carriage rides, ponies, trips for both Children & Adults and lessons. There are over 350km of riding trails in the Corrèze which link all the main riding centres of the department.
