Summary
Le Chalet de Flambeau is an MGM 4 star leaseback development in an idyllic location at the foot of the slopes between the rustic villages of Lanslebourg and Lanslevillard in the Haute-Maurienne region
Property description
Located in the Haute-Maurienne region of the French alps, Val Cenis comprises two old villages – Lanslebourg 1400 and Lanslevillard 1500. Val Cenis has a rich history with the likes of Hannibal and his
elephants crossing into Italy via the Mont Cenis pass, from the 12th century the Mont Cenis pass was the main route to Piemont and in the early 19th century under Napoleon’s rule a road was constructed linking Val Cenis to Susa in Italy.
Val Cenis is not very well known by the British market and the clientele here is predominantly French. The ski area has grown to an ample 125
km of pisted slopes thanks to the liaison with Termignon. There is a good range of runs for all abilities, it is possible for beginners and
intermediates to ski from the top of the resort which is at an altitude of 2 800 m with long blue runs all the way from top to bottom. Val Cenis
boasts the longest green run in Europe, ‘L’Escargot’ is 10 km long winding through the trees from 2 100 m down to 1 400 m. The snow record is very good thanks largely to the predominantly north facing
slopes, the forest provides spectacular scenic skiing and protects against adverse weather conditions.
There is a lot of activity aside from skiing in Val Cenis with a cinema, sports & leisure centre with indoor heated pool, a paragliding school, mountain climbing, dog sledging and even a museum on baroque art.
The resort also has a great selection of restaurants and pubs/bars. It is very easy now to access Val Cenis and the Haute Maurienne valley, Chambery and Turin airport are only a 1hr 30 min drive, Grenoble, Lyon and Geneva are only 2 hrs 20 mins. If you prefer train travel, the TGV descends from Paris every weekend to Modane (24 km from Val Cenis) and only takes 4 hours!
